L'origine du palais est due à la nécessité d'un endroit qui a rencontré tout le confort de l'époque pour l'empereur et sa famille, comme l'Alcazar, près de l'Alhambra. La construction du palais a débuté en 1527 et a été entièrement financée en 1957.
Résidence habituelle des rois de Grenade, leur construction a commencé au début du XIVe siècle. Les Palais Nasrides sont un complexe de palais composé de trois bâtiments: - Le Mexuar est la plus ancienne salle. Il était utilisé pour des réunions entre les ministres du roi et comme salle d'audience. - Ensuite, nous arrivons au Palais de Comares, qui remonte à l'époque de Yusuf I. Cette habitation a été érigée autour du Patio de los Arrayanes (Cour des Myrtes), et ses sorties latérales mènent à la Sala de los Embajadores ( Salle des Ambassadeurs) et la Sala de la Barca (Salle du Bateau). La salle des ambassadeurs est située à l'intérieur de la tour de Comares. - Le Palais des Lions, datant de l'époque de Muhammed V, est également une résidence royale. Il est composé d'une cour centrale, la Cour des Lions, et des salles de chaque côté, la Salle des Mocarabes, la Salle des Rois, la Salle des Deux Sœurs, la Salle des Ajimeces, menant au mirador Point de vue de Daraxa, et la salle des Abencerrajes, avec le Harem.
Au-delà des murs de l'Alhambra, dans une montagne appelée Cerro del Sol, se trouve le Generalife, une propriété de campagne appartenant aux sultans nasrides qui était également utilisée pour la production agricole. Vous découvrirez le Palais d'été, une résidence connue sous le nom de Palais Royal du Bonheur, pleine de vastes jardins avec une vaste gamme de fleurs et de végétation.

We had three wonderful hours of enjoying one of the most amazing sites in the world. Get on your walking shoes and be ready to climb many many stairs to view the beauty of the buildings, the rose gardens in bloom right now in May 2026. The Alhambra is like going back in time to Another culture. The beauty of the architectural and the carvings which make it so, are beyond description. You just have to go there to see it for yourself. Our guide was so knowledgeable. You can tell they have to study for years so they can share so much history with us.

The visit to the Alhambra, Generalife and Nasrid Palaces was simply unforgettable. Despite the duration of about three hours, time flew: thanks to the guide, ALAIN, who was able to perfectly manage the rhythms of the visit, making it always engaging and never tiring. In fact, in the end, I'm sorry it's already over! ALAIN was really fantastic: very prepared, clear in his explanations and able to keep the attention of our boys (14 and 10 years old) high. He was able to transmit with passion the historical and cultural richness of the place, enhancing every detail. In addition to being extremely cultured, he was also witty and eclectic, creating a pleasant and dynamic atmosphere throughout the visit. His knowledge of Italy and its many cultural references were particularly appreciated, which made the experience even more interesting and close. An absolutely recommended experience!
