We returned to Venice with friends and opted for organized tours. Our choice fell on this visit to Murano. It gave us a great opportunity to explore Murano with a local guide, and we enjoyed shopping . A beautiful visit!
Thanks Gertrud!
For our visit we asked to see an alternative Venice. Given our limited time, we were offered a visit to craftsmanship, glass and fabrics. We appreciated the skill of these craftsmen. Thanks again to our guide for the perfect organization.
Grazie , è stato un piacere!
Private taxi boat to the island with Fiorella. We were able to watch the craftsman make the glass. The gallery had beautiful pieces to view and buy. Private taxi back to our hotel. Everything went on time and great communication with our guide.
Thanks Alicia, it was a real pleasure to meet you! Hope to see you again! Fiorella
The private boat trip was excellent with a lot of information and the guide was very knowledgeable. We really enjoyed the glass work and the glass factory. After the visit in the glass factory we did a nice small tour on the island of Murano.
Thanks Thomas!
This “tour” was simply a ploy to take us through a glass show room and hard sell us some glass that we didn’t want to buy. The guide, Fiorolla, was actually quite knowledgeable and thankfully did give us some history of the glass trade on the way over and showed us some churches on the island (we had time because we didn’t want to buy any glass). The glass blowing demonstration lasted about 7 minutes and the rest of the time was a saleswoman hard selling us her company’s glass. The piece she most wanted to sell me was 22,000 Euros! This isn’t a tour. It’s a commercial. Might as well have been for a time share.
I am very surprised about this review, because yesterday you told that you liked the tour. I understand that you wrote the review, because we refused to refund the tour after you did it, and you also wrote to Viator that you didn't do to receive the refund. Regarding the factory unfortunately on Sunday there is just the glass demonstration in all the factories of Murano, but it was a private glass demonstration just for you and showed the two different techniques. Also you had a private pick up and boat from the hotel, a private guide at disposal for three hours, that you appreciated, as you told, the visit of Murano and the church of San Pietro, and the possibility to discover with the guide a part of Venice you didn't know on the way back to your hotel. We are sorry that you thought that somebody wanted to sell you something hard, the assistant in the show room just invited you to see the all production and told you the price of the pieces you liked and the name of the artist. The most of the guests are happy to visit a qualified show room, that is the best way to see the all production of Murano, the techniques, and you noticed yourself the high quality of the show room.
Great Murano gallery visit. Short explanation of glass making, but mostly a shopping trip. Our guide was clearly knowledgeable but had little opportunity to impart any knowledge. We bought some lovely Murano glass and the selection was at least 20x larger than any shop in mainland Venice. Pick up from hotel was great but drop off wasn’t at the hotel, which was disappointing. You can get free boat transfers to and from Murano with a factory visit organized by many hotels so I don’t think the guided tour was good value. Guide was lovely, but I am not sure a guide adds much value on a shopping trip.
Dear James, we are glad that you enjoyed the trip. As you told this tour include the assistant of the guide from the beginning to the end and the program is flexible, so the guest can spend more time shopping, or visiting the island and the church with the guide. In the program is specified that on the way back the boat is a shuttle boat and drop you off at Saint Mark's square/Rialto or Fondamente Nuove, so less than 10 minutes from your hotel and the drop off in San Marco was also the occasion for you to discover the Royal Garden of Venice. We try to do the best to make our clients happy. Hoping to see you again.
Having a private guide and boat and a small luxury, but this helps to avoid the stress of public vaporetto always full. The exhibition of the high quality glass showroom.
Merci beaucoup!
Fantastic tour, Murano factory is a must & the glass blowing demonstration was phenomenal . Our tour guide was lovely. Thank you
