We entertained them with various ideas such as Bemmelian, Khmer and secret spots.
The vehicle smelled like a wet dog or a few wet dogs. Our guide constantly repeated himself for something he already said. It was very draining and drove us absolutely mad. We didn't get to enjoy any peace and quiet as we planned during this trip.
If you’re looking to escape the crowds and see an amazing temple in ruins in the jungle, definitely check out Beng Mealea. I had the good fortune of having the incredible guide Sa. He was full of knowledge about Cambodian history, both old and recent. He imparted in a very easy-going, conversational style. It was very enjoyable spending the morning with him. He picked me up on time at my hotel and took me to get my temple pass, escorting me inside to the counter. At the temple, I was able to take as much time as I wanted, never rushed. Lots of time for photography and to sit for a spell. I highly recommend this temple, this tour, this guide, and this company. Some less glamorous details: the car (minivan) was spotless inside, ran well, and was air-conditioned. Sa is an excellent driver. Cold water was readily available. There is a restroom stop (if needed) before the temple. And don’t miss the opportunity on the way back (or the way there for that matter) to get some sticky coconut rice in bamboo from the roadside vendors. You can’t miss them. A delicious treat.
Beng Mealea is a temple with less people than those temples in the Angkor vat area, so it is quiet and calm. I could realize the power of nature and long history from the temple being collapsed by big trees. The guide KK is so kind that he not only showed me around Beng Mealea, but also the local market and food stalls lining at the side of the road to Beng Mealea. I would not have been able to experience those things if I went to Beng Mealea alone.
Our guide, Sieb David, was extremely knowledgeable on the History and culture from ancient to modern. He had a great repertoire of stories about the temples, figures and meanings. We learnt so much more than the guide books.
Dear Johnjf0249, Thank you so much for taking the time to provide us this awesome review! I will certainly share your wonderful experience to our team Mr. David and I am glad that we have created a memorable experience of your holidays. We are looking forward to welcome you again. Best regards,
The guide was kind and nice. He showed us (two women) around the area which no one walk in. It was an adventure and fun. Thank you.
