Pas nous - nous comprendrons l'énorme effort qui a été fait pour construire le pont, les vies perdues et gagnées, les scandales et les célébrations. C'est un si beau pont mais encore mieux quand on comprend comment il est né. À bien des égards, l'histoire de New York est l'histoire du pont de Brooklyn. Presque rien de ce que vous voyez dans la ville n'existait avant le pont - nous utiliserons le pont pour comprendre la ville qui s'est développée autour de lui - les bâtiments, les autres ponts, le système de transport, les gens. Et puis il y a toutes les histoires amusantes qui s'étendent sur 140 ans. Nous aurons 90 minutes bien remplies pour explorer le pont, la ville et leur histoire.

Itinéraire
On se retrouve dans un des quartiers les plus anciens de Brooklyn. Nous allons passer 30 minutes à marcher autour de la base du pont, admirer les meilleures vues de celui-ci, et discuter de l'histoire incroyable de la façon dont il a été construit
Ensuite, nous traverserons le pont, pour avoir la chance d'examiner l'architecture de près. Marcher sur le pont est une expérience incroyable et nous parlerons de combien et combien ce processus a peu changé au cours des 140 dernières années, terminant l'histoire de sa construction et de sa longue vie
Nous finirons du côté Manhattan du pont à l'intérieur du joli parc de l'hôtel de ville où nous pouvons voir le côté alternatif du pont.

Jon, our private Tour Guide, was personable and patient with our questions, knowlegable about the Bridge's history and architecture- very insightful. He knew the Roebling family history well, and 1000+ points for his many shout-outs to the critical, central role that Emily Roebling played in the Bridge's completion!
