This tour is for the fit and not afraid of steep inclines. We saw some amazing views over the entire tour. We started at Czech National Park that took is to the are and the restaurant up top. The forest has been trimmed back due to the fire however it was still beautiful fall colors. Lots of stones, steps to get there so bring hiking/comfortable shoes. The restaurant was busy only had three workers and didn’t expect the crowd. We only got snacks and drinks while we rested for the climb back down. Next we went into the center of the park to have lunch in a traditional restaurant that felt like a cozy cottage. Next up was the highlight of the tour for me, Saxony Germany to see the Bastei Bridge. Wow what amazing views and experience to see the bridge, what is left of the castle, the rock formations, the river and towns below. This was an easy hike, a few steps to manage overall a must see. Bathrooms at this site did cost money so prepare for that accordingly. Our tour guide Peter arranged the schedule for us and orovoded appropriate commentary about each one of our visits. He carried water and umbrellas for us just in case. He was extremely knowledgeable, on time, and very informative. You could tell he really enjoyed his job and was a great host showing us around. Highly recommend this tour and ask for Peter. He offered the boat tour but we declined since we are jumping on a riverboat cruise. We didn’t miss that since we stayed longer at the Bastei Bridge.
Our guide Peter was Great Informative and helpful. We were picked up on time and drop off on time . Highly recommended
Petr was an amazing guide who taught us about everything from plants and mushrooms, to local politics, history, and culture. He was very helpful and accommodating for a family with 3 young kids. The trip was very worthwhile with 3 great attractions.
Great tour guide, very knowledgeable, conversation on ride there insightful, we really learned a lot about the history of that area of the countries. Very flexible and worked on our timeline, even took us to a German village for a delightful lunch. For a rainy day we had a great time!!
Thank you very much for a nice company. It was my pleasure to be your guide. Thomas
Thomas provided a memorable experience for us on our first journey to Saxon Switzerland National Park. Not only did he show us the promised attractions, he also provided a wonderful insight into Czech culture, language and food. Highly recommend, worth every penny.
Thank you for your review. It was a wonderful trip. It was my pleasure to guide you there. Thomas
Superb day at the national park despite a mild weather. Pick up at the foot of our apartment and very Welcoming by our Francophone guide Alena and our driver. A bit of a long drive to get to the German side of Bastei Bridge but it's definitely worth a visit. The views are breathtaking. Then, unfortunately we could not do the boat ride because of the weather. So after lunch (not included) head to the pravcicka gate after a short walk in the national park on the Czech side ( 2 or 3 km). Very pleasant despite the low part of the ride in a corner ravaged by a large fire. But this vision of desolation and charred trees is in itself a very impressive sight to see and demonstrates that nothing is eternal. Back in front of our apartment. The vehicle was very nice and the driving perfect. The road trip also allows you to discover another part of the country outside the capital. Thanks again to our guide and our driver.
On vous remercie do votre visite et de votre review. Pour nous, c'était un plaisir de travailler avec vous, les visiteurs positifs et motivés. Alena
Our guide Paul was wonderful, informative, and patient.. The hiking and sights were a great experience for all of us, even the "teenagers" were 100% into it. Weather was perfect, cool mountain breezes, gradual hikes and awesome sights. Would do it again! Only tip to pass along for any other city folks, bring cash. None of the food vendors accept credit cards. In al it will be a day to remember.
Thank you for your kind review! It was my pleasure to take you to this beautiful nature around Czech and German borders.Your kids were lovely and knowledgeable.I hope you bring beautiful memories of our country home.Best regards! Peter Paul
My wife and I did the private tour to Czech-Saxon Switzerland because we enjoy hiking and wanted to see some of the countryside outside of Prague. We spent the day with Patrik, who was very knowledgeable and easy-going. He was a good companion for the day, both talkative and comfortable with silence as the mood suited. The trip itself was very enjoyable. About a 5 mile hike to start with on the Czech of the national park, which took us round trip to a large natural bridge and overlook. There is a hotel and cafe at the top but it was closed for winter. After the hike we drove into Germany and had a tasty lunch at a small family restaurant. Then we went to the German side of the park and visited the site of an ancient castle (see picture). The terrain is amazing - similar to the sandstone formations of Utah but imagine if they were in the Great Smokey Mountains of North Carolina. This hike is very short, basically a walk from the parking lot. The third leg was supposed to be a boat ride into a canyon glen, but the boats were not operating due to winter. Patrik was very flexible and offered some other things to do to round out the day. We decided to visit Terezin (earthen fortress used as Jewish ghetto by the Nazis during WWII). We toured the ghetto museum and walked around - very stark and powerful. Overall it was an excellent tour and exactly as advertised. I will use LucyTours again if I have the opportunity.
Hello John! Thank you so much for this review! It is always a pleasure to hike with someone as easygoing as you and your wife. And you are both in good shape too, you set a solid pace - I still remember how my legs were sore after the hike. :D I hope you and your family are doing well and I hope to accomodate you again some day in the Czech Republic. All the best to you, Patrik
