The best tour! Ruth was our guide and hit all the high points. We loved the history of the museum and how she explained each piece of art. She was mindful of my young daughter and kept her engaged the whole time. She also got my teenage boys to participate. Would recommend this tour, with Ruth, to anyone coming to visit the Louvre.
Carole was a wonderful host for our time at the Louvre. Our almost 5 year old daughter started the tour in a very cranky mood after staying up too late to see the Eiffel Tower the night before. Carole was very understanding and even helped us secure a stroller from downstairs so we could continue seeing the art. She continued to give more "adult" explanations of the paintings while my daughter napped in the stroller, then pivoted back to pointing out animals in the various paintings (my daughter is a massive animal lover) once she woke up and was in a better mood. Her flexibility and knowledge saved what could have been a pretty miserable experience. We would love to try again when our girl is a little older!
We have heard from friends that the best way to see the Louvre especially with children is to do so with a private family friendly tour guide. We are so glad we did! Alberto, our guide, was so kind and helpful, and our children (ages 14, 13, 10, and 5) really enjoyed our almost 2 hour trek through parts of the Louvre. Alberto showed us many highlights (some familiar and some not as familiar), and my children devoured the background stories that came with the art we were looking at. I highly recommend and would do it again to see more and different parts of the Louvre!
My son was feeling sick and he did not want to be there. Our guide Ruth did an excellent job engaging him and making it a fun experience for him and all of us. Thank you!
Our guide, Carole, somehow managed to get us through lines and crowds with ease. We saw so much and the time flew by! We went with our 6 and 12 yr old and despite some complaining from the littlest they both expressed that they had a great time and that “Paris is fun!” Carole helped make that happen.
Such a great experience! Our guide, Ruth, gave us a lot of great information and was able to lead us through the Louvre on a busy day. She was great involving my kids 6, 10, & 13. I would recommend to any family!
Joanna was wonderful with our twins! She explained everything so well in terms they’d understand. She was very attentive & made it interactive as well. Highly recommend!
Anna was amazing! We went with our 13 and 15 year old daughters and Anna tailored the tour for them. It was so educational, engaging and lively. Having a great guide was wonderful - made security, admission and navigation so much easier than us trying to solve it ourselves.
Our guide, Laurita, contacted me the morning of the tour to let me know what she was wearing and how to find her. We met up and when she found out it was my niece's 5th birthday, she connected with her immediately and took some amazing photos of us before we entered. This was one of her super powers - knowing how/where to get great photos! Another super power was knowing where the limited air conditioner vents were and making sure we walked right over the top of them. She had a few fun activities to keep my niece engaged and had a wealth of knowledge! The Louvre is the biggest museum in the world and would have been very overwhelming without Laurita. I highly recommend a private guide when traveling with young children. Laurita made sure we all enjoyed the experience! One thing about the Louvre in general, there is a taxi stop by the exit to the museum, but we discovered that the prices were greatly inflated over what we had been paying elsewhere. The driver even took us to an ATM without us asking him to because I guess he knew he was scamming us.
Thank you so much for writing such a lovely review! We’re so happy to hear that Laurita made the experience memorable for you and your family, and we’re glad your niece had such a wonderful time and a truly memorable birthday at the Louvre. We really hope to see you in Paris again soon and to organize another amazing experience for you!
Because we had 3 children with us, we split into two groups. Both guides were excellent. The children all LOVED the tour. The other group was 4 adults. The two men knew very little about art, yet they were totally engaged & mmade a point of telling me what a great experience the tour was. I minored in art history, yet I still learned quite a few interesting facts I had not known before. The guide was absolutely wonderful.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a lovely review for us. We’re so glad to hear that the tour went well with your guides and that your kids enjoyed the experience! It truly means a lot to us to know that you were all engaged and learned more about art together. Best wishes
