Visite privée du fort de l'île dans la baie de Casco : croisière en bateau et visite de l'île

Description

Great boat trip! Guide was extremely knowledgeable & kept us engaged the entire trip! The history was amazing as was the incredible views! Had opportunity to ask questions. If you are ok with the dark ( limited amount) & really cool tunnels I highly recommend this tour!!
Danny and Pete were Fantastic! They were very knowledgeable!! We all enjoyed the tour very much! The only thing that was confusing was where to meet.
Fun and excellent hidden treasure! As a local it takes a lot of be impressed by tourist things but this excursion makes it to the list of fun and worthwhile activities to recommend when families and friends come to visit! Captain Pete really knows the story and human interest of the island and fort with all the fun facts and not just rote history.
This was so fun. Guide was knowledgeable and informative with a relaxed fun humor. Definitely would book another outing with them. Highly recommend this excursion.
We enjoyed exploring the island & fort. Our tour guide Pete has a wealth of historical knowledge that was fascinating. Although the boat ride isn’t long, this experience is awesome if you love history like we do!
Portland is an old city but the bay and her islands are rich with history. A beautiful day with excellent tour guides. Olivia and Zack got us the island . Stefan took use back in time. His storytelling and detailed history brought the fort to life.
Thank you so much for joining us on the Fort Tour! House Island and Fort Scammel are so integral to the history of Portland and Maine's waterfront, and we're always so thrilled to get folks out there to explore it. And we're so happy to hear that Zack, Olivia, and Stefan provided a great experience!
Great day! The boat ride gave us a beautiful view of Portland and our guide shared interesting facts on our way to the fort. The island itself is beautiful and we learned alot. many photo ops and some time to explore. History, natural beauty and easy to moderate walk for everyone. Bring a jacket and water!

Very enjoyable. Boat ride was fun, and the guide was very knowledgeable and interesting. He took us through 400 years of House Island history in an engaging , informative tour of the island.
The fort tour is definitely one of the most interesting ways to experience the history of the Casco Bay! We're always so excited to be able to take folks out there and explore. Thanks for joining us!
10 of us ranging from 3 to 63 went on this tour. From the moment we went into the Portland Beer Hub to meet our guide, everyone was friendly. It was a 5 minute walk to the boat, followed by a 15 minute ride to the island. During the boat ride, the guide and captain pointed out the other forts and the lighthouses in Casco Bay, along with some of the local history. We toured the outside, along with pointing out how Fort Scammel worked with the other forts on the Bay. Down inside the fort was a maze of galleries and tunnels, with each chamber more impressive than the last. The actual time of the tour was 90 minutes. Our guide was very informative, and did an excellent job of answering questions, alll while being very interesting. We were back in Portland 15 minutes later. The boat is 30 feet long and has a roof and snap down clear plastic sides, so it was comfortable on the cloudy, occasionally drizzly day.
The Fort Tour is definitely one of the most interesting ways to learn about Portland's history! We're honored to have access to the fort and we're proud to showcase the history. So glad to hear that you had a great time, despite the weather. Thanks for joining us!
We enjoyed this tour very much. We arrived at the designated meeting spot for the tour in Portland and one of the tour team members met us there. He then escorted us down to the boat. The two man crew on the boat that carried us out to the island were fantastic and very informative. Our tour guide met us right at the boat once we arrived on the island and he was fantastic and extremely knowledgeable. He and his family run the Fortland campground (it’s more like glamping than camping) on the island. Gorgeous views from all parts of the island and exploring the old fort was extremely interesting and full of history. We are going to look into a visit to the campground next year because it’s so unique. I would recommend this tour to others.
We’re so glad you joined us for the Fort tour — it sounds like you really made the most of the whole experience! Our crew and island guide will love hearing your kind words. Fortland truly is a special place, and it’s great to hear you’re considering a return visit to the campground next year. Thanks so much for recommending the tour!
