Souvent surnommé « le plus beau château du monde », le château de Leeds a joué de nombreux rôles au cours de ses près de 900 ans d'histoire. Mentor and Sheila took great care of us. Leeds Castle was peaceful as well as beautiful. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the Canterbury stop. The town was nice but the Abbey was beautiful. I can now say that I have viewed the Cliffs of Dover but it is underwhelming from land views.

My journey through these iconic English landmarks was a wonderful blend of grandeur and quiet moments. Leeds Castle was my first stop, and it utterly redefined my idea of a fortress. It unfolded like a fairytale set upon a glassy lake. Wandering through its opulent state rooms and sprawling gardens, I could almost picture medieval nobility enjoying this "Loveliest Castle in the World." It was a vision of refined beauty and grace. The experience at the White Cliffs of Dover was different, but equally memorable. I didn't climb the top, but viewed them from the pebble beach below. Gazing up at the colossal, brilliant white face from that vantage point was awe-inspiring. The scale was immense, and the contrast with the churning blue sea was stunning. I even captured a photo of the lone church sitting proudly on the clifftop, a silent sentinel watching over the landscape. Finally, I found a profound sense of peace in Canterbury Cathedral. The moment I stepped inside, the hushed atmosphere and the soaring Gothic arches inspired awe. Walking the same stones where Thomas Becket was martyred connected me deeply to England's spiritual and historical tapestry. Together, these three sites painted a complete picture: the romantic elegance of a castle, the powerful perspective from the foot of a natural wonder, and the profound, enduring spirit of faith and history.
