We booked the tour for 10:30am. The tour guide, Monica, messaged me and asked if we could start at 2:30pm instead. I said that was fine. Then, after we had tried to plan our day around the 2:30 tour, she cancelled on us just 2 hours before. We were unable to book any other tours because the only other one we were interested in was an all-day tour that had already started. Highly DO NOT RECOMMEND!
Dear Lori, Thank you for your feedback, and we’re truly sorry to hear about your disappointing experience. We understand how frustrating it must have been to have your plans disrupted, especially with such short notice. This is not the standard of service we aim to provide, and we will follow up with Monica to ensure better communication and reliability moving forward. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding. Best wishes, Withlocals Team
Rita was a fabulous guide. She really knows her City very well. All its history as well as what’s going on today. I will definitely be coming back to Lisbon and would recommend Rita to all my friends.
Wonderful tour with a patient and knowledgeable guide. Riccardo did a great job tailoring the day to our diverse group (young kids and young at heart grandparents). We really enjoyed our afternoon in the city.
We had a great experience with Ângelo. He was very informative and was great with our kids, ages 4 and 5. He even had recommendations for the remainder of our trip. Great way to start out our time in Lisbon!
My partner and I arrived in Lisbon and wanted to get a bit familiar with Lisbon on our first day. This tour was perfect and Ana Rita was a great guide. She shared lots of history and knowledge. We also learned the secret to not have to climb all the hills in Lisbon…there are lifts! Overall a good short intro to Lisbon.
Before we even started the tour, Angelo was kind and accommodating. My husband and I were travelling with my elderly parents and our 6-year-old daughter. My father has some mobility limitations, and Angelo was extraordinarily accommodating by meeting us at our centrally-located hotel, taking a very slow pace for the tour and adjusting the tour with frequent breaks and routes that allowed us all to participate. Angelo possesses an infectious love of his home city, Lisbon, and shared amazing stories and historical facts about the city with us. Angelo also finished the tour by forwarding many suggestions to us for places to eat and other things to do/see. This was an invaluable introduction to the city of Lisbon for us and we would not hesitate to recommend Angelo as a wonderful and accommodating tour guide!
Lucia was an excellent guide. She has a great sense of humour. Focused on pointing out the key sights in the different districts of the city. Lucia gave us some great tips and tricks to navigate Lisbon and recommended some great places to visit as well as where some really good pastel de natas can be found! Thank you
Ricardo was a wonderful guide! Not only did he share his knowledge about Lisbon, but he did it in a way to engage my children. Even bringing us to a playground when they needed a quick break! The while family enjoyed his tour!!
An absolute win starting off our holiday in Portugal with "withlocals". The experience provided a base for further "withlocal" tours we did in other cities. It gave us an opportunity to figure out some city secrets, best of places and other trips to add to our itinerary. We found an absolute gem in Rita. She felt like one of the family and conversation was easy going and even our young teen boys had a great time and enjoyed the entire trip. Rita is well versed, knowledgeable and a wealth of knowledge regarding Lisbon. We cannot thank her enough and sing her praises. What a trip.
Carlos knows Lisboa, he knows the present and history. The guides walk with him was a great kickstart for us, two adults, and for boys 16 years old. Carlos was able to involve us all in the tour young and old(er)! My husband was recovering from a flue and consequently short breathed. Carlos noticed that and found us a (for us) hidden elevator in Alfama. He was perceptive in everyones needs and constantly involving us all with fun facts. The extra tips he gave us where great from the stamp in the bookstore to a delicious lunch place! Muito obrigada Carlos!
