An unforgettable experience with my partner who came from the USA to visit Normandy. I particularly recommend the guide Noé who speaks perfect English! A wonderful guide who is attentive to questions and brings the landing to life hour by hour! To do again!!
Noe was a wonderful and informative guide. He took us to all of the places that we expected to see as then added more information with each stop. He was respectful of our time to return to the ship without having us miss the flag ceremony at the American cemetery. He is a wealth of information and entertained us with his stories. Highly recommend him and the tour.
Five stars are not enough and we would give far more if it was possible. Our tour was a private tour tailored to questions about my husband’s uncle who was killed in 7/44. Our guide, Raphaelle, was very knowledgeable and provided a wealth of information. She was a pleasure to work with. Included in our tour was an hour drive to Utah beach and surrounding areas in WWII jeeps. Prior to the jeep tour, we met with Thomas who provided documents and photos related to my husband’s uncle that we had been unable to obtain on our own. He gave my husband far more detail than we ever expected and it is deeply appreciated. Thomas and the other drivers were all so informative and engaging, adding to the overall experience. The emotional highlight was a visit to the cemetery and participating in a small ceremony to honor the uncle; Raphaelle walked us through the process and was a great help. (The staff of the cemetery were wonderful and deeply committed.) After spending a very full day with us (a party of 7), Raphaelle contacted my daughter a couple of hours later. Based on further information about my husband’s father’s unit, Raphaelle - on her own time - had cross referenced troop movements and was able to narrow down a time frame for a very special phone call between my husband’s father and uncle before the uncle was killed. We highly recommend Normandy Discovery Tours.
We spent a fantastic day with the family by van with Thomas from Normandy Discovery Tour. We visited Pointe du Hoc, Omaha Beach, the American cemetery and the parachute area. Thomas is passionate and has described in great detail the big and small story by adapting to our group with children 5 and 10 years old. I recommend 200% and I will call on his services if we return to the area.
My family of five went on a World War II D-Day landing and Band of Brothers combination family tour with Normandy Discovery Tours, and it was an incredible experience. Thomas, our guide, was friendly, highly knowledgeable, and very engaging throughout the entire tour. He did an excellent job bringing the history to life and tailoring the experience to our family’s interests. His depth of knowledge and ability to connect the stories made these historic sites even more meaningful. I highly recommend booking with Normandy Discovery Tours if you’re looking for an informative, personalized, and engaging way to explore World War II history in Normandy.
Perfect Tour! Our guide Noé, whas extremely knowledgeable, had greath energy and enthusiasm. We got so much out of it. Can highly recommend!
We really appreciate your kind words and are so pleased you had a great experience with Noé and our company, Normandy Discovery Tours.
We (2 American couples) had a half day tour by van with Raphaëlle as our guide and it was excellent. She took us to places we would not have discovered on our own. We had 2 WWII buffs with us and Raphaëlle shared information that they did not know. Her overall set-up of the war and explanations were full of wonderful details and she had informed answers for our many questions. She left us with a deep sense of the importance and terrible costs of freeing Normandy in WW2.
Thank you for choosing us and for your kind comments about the tour!
What a special day and Thomas made it that much more special. Seeing the beautiful villages of Normandy and all the history of D Day and WWII was very moving. Tommy knows the area very well, he is from there and is very involved in the local community with all the history and events. He is a very nice person and easy to talk with. Great day.
We're so pleased to hear that you enjoyed every moment of the tour. Thanks for sharing your experience!
Our son will remember this Jeep ride all his life on his 10th birthday. he is passionate about WW2. It is a very fun way to approach and understand the Normandy landings. Our guide Thomas enthusiastically conveys his passion for this period of history. The icing on the cake: it strengthened our desire to acquire a Jeep:)!
Merci beaucoup pour votre commentaire ! Nous sommes ravis que vous ayez apprécié votre jeep tour !
We cannot say enough positive things about our private Normandy tour with Raphaëlle of Normandy Discovery Tours. From the very outset, her warmth and professionalism set the tone for a truly exceptional day. She carefully crafted an immersive and personal experience—from Sainte-Mère-Église to Utah and Omaha Beaches—that exceeded all expectations. Why this tour stands out: • Expert, heartfelt storytelling. Raphaëlle skillfully blended historical insight with vivid, human narratives. Her passion for the subject came through in every stop, making the events of June 6, 1944 feel immediate and deeply moving. • Tailored pacing and attention. As a private tour, we appreciated that she adjusted the pace for our group, allowing ample time at key sites without ever feeling rushed. • Immersive Jeep experience. Riding in an authentic WWII-era Jeep added incredible atmosphere—every engine turn felt like stepping back into 1944. • Beautiful local touches. During our day, Raphaëlle paused in Sainte-Mère-Église for a cozy lunch and even treated us to an ice cream stop in Isigny—small moments that made the day feel personal and delightful. • Seamless hotel pickup and drop-off. Raphaëlle picked us up directly at our hotel in Bayeux and returned us there at the end of the day. It made the entire experience convenient and stress-free, allowing us to focus completely on the journey. If you’re seeking a deeply moving, expertly narrated journey through the history and landscape of D‑Day, this private tour with Raphaëlle is an absolute must. It’s clear she cares profoundly about preserving memory and sharing it meaningfully. We returned home not only well-informed but moved in ways we didn’t anticipate.
Thank you for your positive energy and your wonderful feedback!
