We had an exceptionally experienced guide in Dave for our private tour. Even though it was cold 10 degrees, the air was fresh and we visited all the main sites and Dave gave us lots of facts and details. The viewing was very clear. Everywhere was not busy was made it all the more pleasurable. A very very nice day in the mountain.
My wife and I went to the Blue mountains this week. It was chilly but so beautiful. The air was fresh and we had Dave make us a private tour at our pace. We wanted easy walks and some relax time as well in the village.. We saw 3 sister and waterfall. Dave suggested the Scenictrain and cableway were good. So we did tat with him and he gave us a full guided walk in the forest on the Boardwalk. The day finished with the ferry along the river, was a nice relaxing end to a special day. Happy to recommend this company and Dave's service.
We were my elderly Mum ,2kids of 11y and 14 y and me and hubby. We had Dave all to ourselves on his private option. He made the day to suit us which had something of interest for each of us, we all loved Scenicworld rides and the Featherdale, Mum had some retail time in Leura while we went off the view some brilliant views of the canyon. Dave knows all the best places and he seems well known with other guides daying hi to him. The entire day was the best and the ferry ride down the river which ends near the Opera house completed our best day in Sydney.
We wanted Dave to arrange a larger vehicle to take our group of 13 friends to make a Blue mountains tour, just for us. He did an amazing job, picked us all up in 3 different places in the city. He is incredibly knowledgeable. We saw mountain vistas, his guided walk in the forest on the Boardwalk taught us all so much, you need to take the Secenicworld option to do this but it is so worth it. We saw Kangaroos, Emus , so many Koala bears at the Featherdales park. His Katoomba cafe recommendation was warm and inviting with a nice meal selection. Dave’s long experience really shines through . The ferry cruise to return to the city was the best ending to the most wonderful tour. Each member of our group found engaging with Dave to answer all questions was very rewarding. Thanks so much Dsve for your service.
Dave did so much to make our family comfortable during our trip to the Blue mountain from Sydney. His driving was smooth whilst he chatted to us and told us all we wanted to know. He navigated to all the best places to see, the # sisters, the exciting rides, and a nice lunch cafe in Katoomba called Yellow deli. The ferry return to the city capped off a marvellous outing for us.
We had Dave as our guide tour - the tour is not worth your money if you will not buy the additional tickets to enter scenic world / otherwise is exactly ‘a transfer’ to Blue Mountains. The experience was really poor: the guide didn’t know exactly where to buy the tickets to Scenic World, he rushed through the path of Scenic World, just to end up eating outside in a freezing rain (this was our tour guide recommendation for the restaurant - was either eating outside in rain or no other option to eat). The expectation is that you will spend a lot of time in the center of the cities for ‘shopping’, but basically there are just a couple of shops on the Main Street and not too much opportunities to actually do any shopping. The return included the visit to a zoo, where we were just dropped off as our tour guide (for which we paid for his time for entire day) just sat on a bench and read a newspaper while we walked through the zoo. The final was epic: something that is marketed as ‘ a cruise’ is basically just a regular scheduled commuter passenger boat … Overall not a great experience, not worth the money this tour with this company and try to avoid Dave and his car (the car was dirty, damaged outside …).
This review is NOT about me Dave, there are many other "Dave's" doing these tours I have been doing tours for 30 years and I know ALL about Scenicworld and even on busy days have all the expertise to get my customers through, so to say I don't know where to buy tickets is absurd. Every customer of mine loves the cafe in Katoomba I take them to, the Yellow Deli, never sitting outside, it has a wonderful atmosphere inside and excellent in meals. My tour is NOT a shopping tour, this clearly indicates this review is intended for a different company. At the zoo I am always walking around and interact with my guests and others. The return "commuter boat" cruise is the exact SAME one as used by EVERY other Blue mountains tour company. Finally to say my car is "dirty, damaged" , it's a 6 months new SUV with not one scratch, AND, is washed and vacuumed before every tour ! This review is clearly fake and intended for a different company.
Our private tour with Dave was everything you could want with something for all family members. Our kids loved Scenicworld rides, my elderly father enjoyed strolling in Leura and relaxing at viewpoints. My wife and I loved the short walks. particularly being with Dave and his commentary along the forest Boardwalk. Comfortable driving and a relaxing boat back to Sydney made a splendid day.
All aspects of our blue mountains tour with Dave were spot on. From answering all our emails to hotel puck up and the day itself were incredible. The mountains are sure a day in Sydney well spent. Great scenic lookouts, thrilling rides at the Scenicworld and Dave's fascinating facts throughout make a most enjoyable day. Make sure you do the private option it's worth the extra to have his undivided attention for just yourselves.
David was wonderful person to spend the day with. He was very knowledgeable about the Blue mountains and shared valuable information.
We had an absolutely fantastic private Blue Mountains tour with Dave. He picked us up right at our hotel, was perfectly on time, and thanks to his planning we beat the crowds into the mountains. The scenery was stunning, and Dave’s knowledge really brought the area to life — from the geology to the unique flora and fauna of the region. The weather couldn’t have been better, and we loved the mix of experiences, including the train ride and the boardwalks. One of the highlights was visiting the animal park — Dave timed it perfectly so we arrived right at feeding time, when all the animals were active and out and about. Dave was especially wonderful with the kids, keeping them engaged with stories and even some Australian songs along the way. Having a private tour made all the difference, allowing us to move at our own pace and really enjoy each stop without feeling rushed. I truly can’t recommend Dave or this tour highly enough. It was a perfect day and a highlight of our time in Australia. ⸻
