Thank you so much, Teresa, for your amazing feedback! We’re thrilled you loved Ravenna and that the guide made the experience so special by going the extra mile. Hope to have you back for another adventure soon! Andrea - Taste Bologna
A great way to spend the morning! Our tour (which was private, since we were the only ones who showed up) was a great mix of art and culture, not to mention the food. It made us definitely want to return and see/eat more!
Thank you, Dean! We're so happy to hear you enjoyed the private Ravenna tour. It’s great that the mix of art, culture, and food made you want to come back for more! We'd love to welcome you again on your next visit. Andrea - Taste Bologna
So glad we took this tour- in the first instance Andrea could not have been more helpful booking it and advising on the train tickets from Bologna, and then on the day everyone did everything to help when the trains went on strike. Definitely above and beyond with customer service. And boy was it worth the effort- Ravenna was stunning and the mosaics literally left us speechless, all described beautifully by Silvia who was a great guide. We loved the stops for food & wine and would totally recommend to anyone.
We're so happy that you could make it despite the train strikes. Ravenna is really an underrated city with so much to explore and...to eat. Thanks so much for coming and we do hope to have you again soon in Italy with us. A presto! Andrea and Silvia - Taste Bologna
This turned out to be a very small group, only four of us, which was excellent! Our leader Giacomo Saragoni, was informed, funny, full of great facts and very gracious. Couldn’t have asked for a better guide! He took great care of my husband who is on a mobility scooter and showed him little shortcuts going over fewer cobblestones. The mosaics were incredible and Giacomo’s guidance awesome, not to mention our snack and then full blown lunch at lovely local restaurants. Highly recommended!!
Thanks Cindy for sharing your trip to Ravenna with us and for this stunning review. We do our best to address all our client's needs and to enjoy the mosaic at their best. See you soon again in Italy! Andrea and Giacomo - Taste Bologna

So just returned from a gem of a town called Ravenna. Had never heard of it but that is where all of the big ships are sailing out of. I booked a tour through Viator. The local company is called Taste Of. It was Ravenna Food and Mosaic Small Group Tour. It was just Alex and I so it was spectacular. Our guide was Sylvia. She has been doing tours for 20 years. She lives 300 meters from the heart of town and so do her parents. She knows everything there is to know about the history of Ravenna and then some. I had contacted the tour company in advance to see if they could accommodate my allergies and fortunately for me his wife is celiac. The tour is soooooo much better than described. First stop was a mosaic gallery where we saw them cutting the tiles to make mosaics commissioned by customers. Met an amazing artist in residence named Luca Barberini who was working on his third piece in a series that has been commissioned in Germany. Ravena is the city of mosaic so I could not imagine a more beautiful way to start our cruise with this tour. There are 5 UNESCO heritage sites. I think we stopped at 4 of them. We stopped a wine bar for wine and the smoothest pecorino cheese I have ever had. FYI Pecorino is lactose free since it is made from sheep milk. Another plus for me. Had no idea. Final stop for GF pan fried anchovies in rice flour and cod. We saw the big cruise tours walking by and I was so glad we did not book it. The intimacy with Sylvia made you feel like you have known her forever. I hope the rest of my tours are just like this. I know that we have been spoiled by Sylvia and no tour will compare. Great way to start the cruise.
Oh wow, what a great review! We can't thank you enough for sharing your enthusiasm and we hope other will follow your path and join our Ravenna food and mosaic tour. Thanks and see you again for more Pecorino! Andrea and Silvia - Taste Bologna Food Tours
Silvia the guide is an absolute delight. We were lucky enough to have her all to ourselves on our food and mosaic tour. She explains the history of Ravenna and its famous past in such vivid detail that I felt I knew the real people who lived here 1500 years ago. The mosaics have to be seen to be believed. She is also an expert with food and made sure that we enjoyed regional delicacies on a couple of stops as well as a walk through the covered market. The tour with Silvia was well worth the train trip from Bologna for the day.
Thank you so so much for reviewing our new tour in Ravenna. It's our last born so it needs a bit of promotion and I'm sure your words will help. It has been our pleasure to have you under the blue mosaic-starred sky of Galla Placidia. See you soon again in Ravenna! Andrea and Silvia - Taste Bologna
Having enjoyed the Bologna tour with Taste Bologna, we decided to book the Ravenna tour and were not disappointed. Silvia was the most wonderful guide and we loved learning more about Ravenna, the amazing mosaics, the delicious food and spending time getting to know the city and its history. Absolutely recommend this tour and a big thank you to Silvia for a wonderful day.
Thanks so much for reviewing our brand-new tour in Ravenna. You were one of the first guests to try it and we do hope to welcome many more in 2023. See you soon again with us! Andrea and Silvia - Taste Bologna
This was an excellent tour in all respects. A small group, Silvia was very informative and made it very interesting. From the mosaic factory to the Basilica and Mausoleum and then on to taste food and wine in two restaurants. The tour was well thought out and at the right pace through the wonderful streets of Ravenna. Would certainly recommend this tour
Thanks so much for being the first to review our brand-new tour in Ravenna! It was our pleasure to show you the city of mosaics and its food, I think they're both very underrated. See you soon again in Italy! A presto, Andrea and Silvia - Taste Bologna
