A great start to the weekend

We had a wonderful time with Anita. She was kind, flexible, extremely knowledgeable, and shared so much interesting information throughout the tour. She also went out of her way to help us find a nice place for lunch afterward. We especially appreciated learning about the composers and how the city's architecture, history, and cultural figures are all connected. The tour was an excellent way to begin our weekend getaway.

A really interesting afternoon in Vienna

Our family of 5 spent the day exploring Vienna and we were pleasantly surprised by how much fun we had. Our guide was amazing with our 3 girls (ages 5 to 9). She knew exactly how to keep them interested and made sure they had a great time throughout the tour. We also loved hearing the stories about Vienna’s musical history and seeing parts of the city we would have completely missed on our own. We learned a lot and truly enjoyed the whole experience. We’re already looking forward to coming back someday!

really nice and easy to follow

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable, engaging and friendly. The explanations were clear and detailed, giving us a good understanding of Vienna’s musical history and some of the key places around the city centre. Questions were always welcomed, and extra context was shared on cultural and historical aspects of the city and country. We would definitely recommend this tour to other travellers visiting Vienna.

Was this our Guide’s first tour ever??? Avoid Sergio if you want to learn about Viennese music history.

Our guide Sergio, seemed unprepared to conduct this 2 hour tour, which ended 30 minutes early. He admitted to not playing any musical instrument, nor demonstrated in-depth knowledge of Viennese composers. The few descriptions provided could easily and quickly be found on Google or Chat GPT. In between stops, conversation was more personal experience rather than anything related to the music history and composer lives in Vienna. When we arrived at Mozarthaus stop, Sergio admitted to never have been inside the museum. I can compare the itinerary description and list what was NOT provided to us. The name Strauss was not mentioned 1 time! In fact, no pictures nor music was shared by Sergio, which left my wife and I to assume he knew very little about the subject of the tour (outside of brief Wikipedia notes). The tour ended 30 minutes early, with him spending 5-10 minutes trying to locate where our evening concert was to be held. We already did that by using Google Maps. Why waste our time? At the second stop at St Michael’s church, we saw NONE of the mortuary masks described in the itinerary. Rather, our guide showed us how the main altar was hidden from view by a very large hanging curtain. He said he didn’t know the reason why that appeared there. Stop 5 at Mozart Wohnhaus didn’t happen at all. Compared to several other Viator tours my wife and I have been on, this was the worst. I requested a refund and will await results. If denied, I will write a more detailed review, stop by stop comparing the itinerary to what we encountered.

Thank you for your detailed feedback. We’re very sorry the experience did not meet your expectations. Sergio is a professional guide who regularly conducts this itinerary, but we understand that the approach may have felt too conversational rather than academic. This tour is designed as an **outdoor walking experience focused on locations and stories**, not as a museum-style lecture, and content is adapted to each group. Regarding the duration, timing can vary slightly depending on walking pace and stops. The guide also spent time assisting you in locating your evening concert venue, trying to be helpful, though we understand this may not have been necessary. We’re glad to know the concert itself was a success and hope it was a highlight of your evening. Some elements mentioned in the itinerary (such as specific interior details) depend on accessibility or visibility at the time. We will nevertheless review your comments internally to reinforce musical content and materials. We truly appreciate your feedback.

A Musical Tour

Our tour through Vienna’s musical history was outstanding, and spending time with our guide was one of the highlights of our wonderful trip to Vienna. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the city’s great composers and the places connected to them, and answered all of our many questions with a good sense of humor while remaining very personable. Walking through the historic streets and learning about Mozart, Beethoven and Strauss made the experience even more special. We discovered so many fascinating places along the way and were truly impressed.

Amazed by this city

What a fascinating and beautifully curated tour! Our guide was wonderful. Incredibly knowledgeable about Vienna’s musical heritage, perfectly on time, full of captivating stories about the great composers, lively and engaging, with a true passion for the city and its concert halls. The pacing was ideal, her English flawless, and her suggestions for music-related spots to visit afterwards were excellent. We were also amazed by how alive Vienna’s classical music scene still feels.

Vienna Made Easy for the Whole Family

This tour was absolutely spot on for our family. In two well-paced hours, we explored the history and key sights of Vienna, with enough time to really take in how the city evolved through the centuries and appreciate its beauty. Nadia was warm, engaging, and clearly passionate about her city, which made everything more enjoyable. Ten out of ten — everything went smoothly and we all loved it.

Vienna and Its Musical Legacy

Our guide was a lively, witty, cosmopolitan young woman. We genuinely enjoyed our tour with her. She shared excellent perspectives and adapted our time together to introduce us to the Vienna she adores while responding to our specific questions. Very professional and recommendable. Advice: Choose the option with tickets, because after the tour you’ll definitely want to go to the concert!

Musical Journey Through Vienna

Outstanding tour which I’d happily recommend to anyone — whether it's your first time in Vienna or you're returning to explore more. Along the way, we explored Vienna’s musical legacy — from homes connected to Mozart and Beethoven to places that still echo with classical melodies. We even visited the interactive Haus der Musik, which was a delight, especially for families wanting to play and learn. This tour beautifully blended culture, history, and music, and it left us appreciating the city on a whole new level. Highly recommended!
