I recently spent a few days in Chișinău and was honestly surprised by how relaxed and welcoming the city feels. Chișinău is also a good base if you are interested in wine culture. Moldova has a strong winemaking tradition, and many travelers take short trips to nearby wineries. Food is simple but comforting, with local dishes served in cozy restaurants at reasonable prices. Overall, I would recommend Chișinău to travelers who enjoy less crowded capitals, authentic local vibes, and a slower pace. It may not be packed with famous landmarks, but it offers a genuine experience that feels refreshingly different.
Thank you , Natalia, for my walking tour in Chisinau! It was a wonderful tour! Highly recommend ! Natalia was perfectly on time and very helpful. The tour was well organized, and she gave her 100 percent — it was even above my expectations. She is very professional. We saw many beautiful sights, and she also gave me excellent recommendations for other places to visit in Moldova — I didn’t even imagine there was so much to see. Great experience!
Not as described, this was a walking tour not a pick up, and it was a 7.5 mile walk, this was not mentioned either quite crucial to one of us being 70 years.
Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear the tour wasn’t exactly what you expected. This was a private walking tour, exactly as described, and “pickup” means meeting guests at their central hotel and walking together to the starting point — not transportation. The guide met you at your hotel and returned with you afterwards. We’re very flexible and can adapt the route or arrange a car when informed in advance, but no special requests or mobility limitations were mentioned beforehand. During the tour, you kindly confirmed everything was fine and even left a tip. We wish you all the best and hope you enjoyed your time in Chișinău.
My tour guide Natalia was on-time, courteous, knowledgeable, and personable. I was lucky that I had the tour on a Sunday morning. She used a car for touring me around all the sites instead of having to walk or taking public transportation. We hit all the promised historical sites well within the time allocated. Very pleased with this private Chisinau city tour overall and would highly recommend it if conducted by private car.
I went by myself to visit the city centre of Chișinău. Autumn 2025 I want to say that is very beautiful, amazing architecture, flowers all around, hospitable people, very tasty 😋 food and a lot of greenery . The prices are good and everything is very close to find it. Coffee, pizza, park, shopping mall, buses. Recommend to visit
Since it was my first time to Moldova and didn't know much about Chisinau, I booked this city tour. I understand that not many tourists visit Moldova and the tourism infrastructure is yet to fully develop in Moldova. This is its charm and the frustration. This was the most expensive city walking tour I had ever taken in any country. When I paid a little more than 100 USD to book this city tour, I mistakenly assumed that I would be taken in a van to various places in the city, but a nice, young man who is a college student, who picked me up from my hotel and showed me by foot the various places near the hotel for about 3 hours. He was informative and helpful, but at one point to visit a small tower, which he said I would have to pay the entrance fee, but then asked me to pay for his ticket also. This was unusual as in other cities, tour guides will either enter a site for free or would wait while the tour guests visited a site. This was okay, but the most unusual part was that at the end of the tour, he said my hotel was too far from the last stop and I would have to pay for a taxi to get back to the hotel. I have never been on a city walking tour where the tour guide did not bring me back to the starting point, especially paying 100 USD for a 3-hour walking tour. In retrospect, if I had known all this, I would have done this walking tour on my own as my hotel was close to all the sites we visited on this walking tour. Overall, this was a new experience for me, and I understand some of it had to do with not many tourists visiting Moldova and the tour organizations there need some improvements.
Dear Murali Thank you for allowing us to be part of your travel experience in Moldova, and we are truly sorry that some aspects did not meet your expectations. We value every opinion, but for clarity: our guides are licensed professionals, not students; the tour description clearly states this is a private walking city tour, not a van or group tour ; which provides a more personal experience and is reflected in the price; all sites listed in the tour description already include entrance tickets; the tower you mentioned was an optional extra stop, not part of the official program; and our guides always accompany guests from the starting point to the final point, and no guest is left alone to find their way back. Taxi or transfers are only suggested if a traveler requests to finish the tour at another location. And we greatly appreciate that you found our guide helpful and informative. We are committed to offering authentic and welcoming experiences, and we are always happy to welcome travelers to Moldova.
This city tour, by Natalia, was fantastic! It was drizzly, so she found a few indoor places to visit until the sky cleared. Once we were in downtown and walking about, we saw lots of wonderful sites. She shared so much Moldovan history, too. I would recommend this easy half day tour.
Our guide Arthur has guided us through the beautiful center of Chisinau. He knew a lot about the history and present of the city.
We had a great experience with this tour! Natalia was incredibly kind and knowledgeable — she showed us the most important sights in Chișinău and gave us detailed explanations about the country’s history. She also answered all of our questions, even those not directly related to the tour itself. On top of that, she gave us great recommendations for local places to eat and grab a drink. Thank you, Natalia!
Natalia was the BEST! always on time & she’s definitely passionated about what she does . 2-3 hrs full of historic & knowledge about Moldova which is perfect for first timers.
