As a fan of Grieg, this visit was one of the highlights of my trip to Norway. The setting is lovely, very private and on the bay. The Grieg house is unpretentious and charming. Griegs’ little red composition studio is charming; one can imagine him working there. The concert hall is lovely and the piano recital was very professional. The grave of Nina and Edvard Grieg is the most beautiful and appropriate I have ever seen. It is stunning and not to be missed.
Thank you for the review. :)
Fary was an excellent guide, so very intelligent about all the things we saw! Edvard Grieg’s home and property, the Bergen Stave Church, St. Mary’s Church, The Fortress, and the famous Wooden Wharf. The vehicles were lovely and very clean, and the drivers were kind and excited to help us see their beautiful city of Bergen as well. Great experience!
Thank you so much!
Don't waste your money! This tour is definitely NOT worth the money. Way overpriced, does not include admission. You would be better off paying for Taxi or Uber.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We noticed that your initial review on July 4th reflected a generally positive experience with your guide, and we were pleased to hear that you found them pleasant and knowledgeable. However, we also noted your comment about the admission not being included, and we take such feedback seriously as we continuously aim to improve our tours. We were surprised to receive a refund request and a significantly different review posted on July 22nd. We understand that sometimes expectations and impressions can change over time, but we also want to ensure consistency and fairness in how we handle feedback and refunds. As the tour was completed as described and with no reported issues at the time of service, we are unfortunately unable to issue a refund at this stage. However, we do value your input, and we will review our tour descriptions and pricing to ensure clarity and transparency for all future guests. We appreciate your understanding and thank you again for joining the tour.
Enjoyed this experience. Our guide was very pleasant and knowledgable. It would be better if for the price it included admission into the house/ museum.
Thank you for the feedback
Travenor was an excellent guide. His knowledge of Norwegian history, geography, and culture helped us for our entire 10 day expedition of this great and beautiful country. Since the Edvard Grieg home was several miles outside of Bergen, we opted to have a guided driving tour to get there. Immediately from our hotel, Travenor filled us with words well beyond printed travel books. He fielded questions, took us to the historic fort, a Stave church, and Troldhaugen. In addition, he took us to a bank and another specialty store which we requested. I would absolutely recommend this tour and that you request Travenor as a guide.
Thank you so much for the review. Glad you liked the tour.
This was an amazing experience. Our driver Fraid made sure we got everything out of the experience we wanted and even went out of his way to show us things along the way that he felt would be interesting to us. He is very knowledgeable about the area and had many interesting historical stories to tell. I would do this tour again any time with him.
We enjoyed the tour. The guide and the driver were great. The only problem was that I had to purchase the tickets we needed to get in. I understood that it was included in the tour price.
This tour is exceptional and a great way to make the most of your time in Bergen and included a visit to the historical city center, Stave church and the Grieg House. Our guide was very friendly, knowledgeable and provided valuable insight into the best areas to visit in the city center. We visited Bergen before and were impressed with the guides willingness to tailor the tour to our specific interests. We have a background in music so a visit to the Grieg house was a priority during our trip. Our guide was organized and handled all of the logistics so we did not have to spend valuable time working out transportation, ticketing or waiting in line. Thank you to our guide for sharing your knowledge and for making this a memorable experience for us.
Thank you so much! Happy you enjoyed the tour.
We went early to avoid the crush as only groups of 20 people can fit in the house at a time. A very modest house but well kept and contains some interesting artifacts. Interesting atmosphere too, quiet and clam with good decor and lots of original features. The concert hall is nearby and we were fortunate to be able to attend a short piano recital by a Japanese pianist. Altogether a very satisfying visit, would certainly recommend.
Thanks for the review. Glad you enjoyed the tour!
