Notre guide viendra vous chercher à votre hôtel au Caire ou à Gizeh, puis vous emmènera en voiture privée pour visiter la vieille ville copte du Caire. Commencez d'abord par la forteresse de Babylone datant de 98 av. J.-C. par l'empereur romain Trajan, puis visitez l'église suspendue qui remonte au IIIe siècle et a été construite sur les 2 tours restantes de la forteresse de Babylone. Ensuite, nous allons visiter l'église de la crypte sacrée car nous pensons que la sainte famille y est restée pendant trois mois, puis nous visiterons la communauté juive pour visiter la synagogue Ben Ezra et votre guide vous expliquera l'histoire juive et leur venue en Égypte et le prophète Moïse.
Ensuite, transfert pour visiter le monastère de Saint-Simon, également connu sous le nom d'église troglodyte de Zabbaleen, qui remonte au dixième siècle après J.-C. pour Saint Simon le tanneur. Il est situé dans la montagne Mokattam, et il est taillé dans la roche native de la montagne pour être la plus grande église d'Égypte et du Moyen-Orient. Un court trajet en voiture à travers la soi-disant « ville des ordures » - une grande population d'éboueurs ou Zabbaleen qui y vivent.

We wanted to see a different side of Cairo beyond the usual attractions, and this tour was perfect. The Cave Church was absolutely incredible and unlike anything we had seen before. The churches of Old Cairo were historic and inspiring. Our guide Ramy explained everything clearly and made the day memorable.

After doing the tour Koptic and Islamic highlights i continued with the guide Mina and driver George from Bishoo Travel to see the excavatrd church. Driving through “ rubbish city” where 90 to 95 % are Christians gave me a good view of the daily life of these citizens and their recycling activities, the church itself and the carvings in the rock were brilliant, together with the stories and history of the church. My guide Mina was passionated which I liked a lot.

First time in Egypt, we booked a day trip to visit Old Cairo churches and Saint Simon Cave monastery with Magic Cairo Tours via Viator. Our guide Marsil picked us up from our hotel and provided to be a wealth of knowledge of the sites we visited.
