"Le monastère de Khor Virap offre la vue la plus imprenable sur le mont biblique Ararat. Le monastère a une importance religieuse et historique significative - vue où saint Grégoire l'Illuminateur a été emprisonné et le christianisme a commencé en Arménie. La cathédrale d'Echmiadzin (traduction littérale : La Descente des Seuls Engendrés) est le centre de l'église apostolique arménienne construite à l'origine au début du IIIe siècle avant J.-C. et un certain nombre de sources affirment également qu'Etchmiadzin est la plus ancienne église chrétienne officielle du monde entier. C'est votre chance de visiter et d'explorer un endroit unique et unique au monde! L'église Saint-Hripsime est dédiée à l'une des 40 vierges échappées de l'empire romain. Debout en grande partie intacte depuis sa construction, l'église a été largement admirée pour son architecture, considérée comme un chef-d'œuvre de l'architecture arménienne classique, elle a influencé de nombreuses autres églises arméniennes.

Le monastère de Khor Virap est situé à environ une heure de route de la capitale Erevan et offre une vue imprenable sur le symbole déterminant de l'Arménie - le majestueux Ararat. «Khor Virap» se traduit par «donjon profond», et a été construit à l'endroit de l'ancienne prison royale, située sur le site historique d'Artashat. C'était cette même prison dans laquelle ils ont gardé Grégoire l'Illuminateur, le premier catholicos arménien, pendant 13 ans.
Vous visiterez l'église St. Hripsime, qui a été construite sur le sépulcre d'une religieuse chrétienne Hripsime qui a fui l'Empire romain et a été tuée en Arménie. Ce bâtiment étonnant se tient debout depuis le jour de sa construction depuis 618 après JC, ce qui en fait l'une des plus anciennes églises debout du monde.
Notre prochain spot sera à cinq minutes en voiture: l'église du 7ème siècle de St. Gayane. Gayane était la nounou de Hripsime et partageait le destin tragique de Hripsime.
Vous pourrez observer la première cathédrale chrétienne au monde – la Sainte Ejmiatsin, construite en 301-304. Selon la légende, Jésus-Christ est descendu à l'endroit même où se trouve aujourd'hui l'autel de la dissidence, où Grégoire l'Enlumineur a ordonné de construire l'église. La cathédrale est un symbole de l'identité et du patrimoine national arménien, reflétant la tradition chrétienne profondément enracinée du pays.
La cathédrale de Zvartnots, aujourd'hui en ruines, est une cathédrale arménienne du VIIe siècle à bas-côtés à plan central de type tétraconque construite par l'ordre du Catholicos Nersès le Bâtisseur de 643-652. Selon la légende, le nom "Zvartnots" signifie « anges célestes », inspiré par la croyance que les anges veillaient autrefois sur le temple. Elle est inscrite sur la liste du patrimoine de l'UNESCO. En fait, toutes les églises incluses dans la visite sont inscrites au patrimoine culturel mondial de l’UNESCO.

This tour was great! The tour guides of this company makes the visits interesting, engaging and enjoyable. Although there was a constant language switching by the tour guide from Russian to English and vice versa, which interrupted the immersion, still it was a very nice and valuable tour. I recommend them, especially if you book a tour in the Russian language, the experience will be much more unique. As a note to the operator, they should consider offering the same tours in Russian and in English as separate groups, this would keep the experience consistent in the preferred language. Other than that, everything was great

Were on an individual field trip with guide Karen today. We really enjoyed it. The guide spoke very well about the history of Yerevan, about all the temples we visited, learned very much new and unknown about the formation of Christianity. I highly recommend it. On my final day I had this half day trip booked for after I checked out and had my bags. It was a private tour so I had the car to myself. The driver came to my apartment at 10am to pickup as arranged. It was an older guy who didnt speak much English but tried to help as best as could. We went first to Khor Virap then back to the churches around the city Echmiadzin, Hripsime, Gayane, and Zvarnots temple. I was dropped back at Republic Squre where I had requested. It was very convenient to have my own driver after two large bus tours on previous days and reasonably priced.
