Notre première visite a lieu à l'Acropole et au site archéologique qui l'entoure.La vue panoramique sur la capitale depuis le Rocher Sacré est unique. Sur la colline historique, vous aurez l'occasion de voir l'Odéon d'Hérode Atticus, le temple de l'Athéna Niké, la porte monumentale (Propylée), l'Érechthée et bien sûr le célèbre Parthénon, le temple principal dédié à la déesse vierge Athéna.
Ensuite, nous nous dirigeons vers le stade panathénaïque, où les premiers Jeux olympiques modernes ont eu lieu en 1896.
Sur la colline Lycabette, profitez d'une vue panoramique imprenable sur Athènes, y compris des monuments comme l'Acropole et la mer Égée. Entouré d'une verdure luxuriante, cet endroit serein offre un endroit idéal pour se détendre, dîner et capturer des photos à couper le souffle de la ville ci-dessous.
Nous visitons ensuite les monuments architecturaux uniques du centre-ville, connus sous le nom de Trilogie athénienne (Bibliothèque nationale – Université – Académie d’Athènes).
En chemin, nous nous dirigeons vers l'Agora antique, le cœur de la vie publique dans les villes grecques antiques.La zone de l'Agora antique comprend certains des monuments les plus importants d'Athènes tels que le temple d'Héphaïstos, l'autel des douze dieux, le patroos Apollon, l'église des saints apôtres et plus
Ensuite, en longeant le jardin national, nous verrons la relève de la garde (Euzones) devant l'ancien palais, qui est aujourd'hui le Parlement, au-dessus de la place centrale d'Athènes, Syntagma et ensuite au monument du soldat inconnu devant le Parlement grec, où vous pourrez prendre des photos avec les soldats en tenue traditionnelle grecque.
Visitez le majestueux temple de Zeus Olympien, autrefois le plus grand temple de Grèce. Dédiée à Zeus, le roi des dieux olympiens, cette structure colossale a pris plus de 600 ans à être achevée. Bien qu'il ne reste que quelques-unes de ses colonnes imposantes, l'ampleur et la grandeur du temple sont impressionnantes. Au milieu de ces ruines antiques, vous comprendrez l'importance du temple dans les temps anciens et son rôle dans la vie religieuse d'Athènes.

We booked a private 5-hour Athens tour, and Margaret was wonderful. The weather was horrible and we had a very limited time before we caught our flight back to Crete, yet Margaret made it great with her master driving in chaotic Athens, and she was very knowledgeable about the history of the city. Got the hotel pickup option and it was great. Giannis was on time and his van was clean and comfortable, He took us to all the highlights, which was great, but made even better by his flexibility on times at the various places. We ended up spending more time at the Olympic stadium but still made it to the changing of the guard right on time. When he dropped us at the Acropolis for our separate tour, he kept in touch with WhatsApp messages. You don't get the tour commentary, but you'll have fun!
