Itinéraire
Nous commençons notre visite depuis la capitale de l'île, Fira. C'est le cœur culturel, de divertissement et commercial de l'île et l'un des endroits les plus visités de Santorin. Il est construit au bord d'une falaise tombant dans la mer, et sa pente est couverte d'immeubles résidentiels blancs comme neige, d'églises, de restaurants, de magasins, etc. Nous marcherons dans les ruelles et nous verrons les églises catholiques et orthodoxes !
Nous nous dirigeons vers l'endroit le plus célèbre de l'île, Oia. Il est considéré comme le village le plus pittoresque de Santorin et occupe la position de lieu le plus visité pour l'observation du coucher du soleil, car il offre une excellente vue sur le coucher de soleil bien connu, probablement le plus célèbre au monde. Oia se trouve sur la côte nord-ouest de Santorin et sa beauté est sans précédent…. une synthèse de maisons blanc-bleu et d'églises au dôme bleu, "suspendues" à la caldeira, composant une toile colorée difficile à mettre en mots. Le temps des photos et le temps de défiler dans les petites ruelles sont au cœur du shopping, avec notamment des marques locales célèbres, des objets artisanaux et des boutiques de souvenirs.
Le prochain arrêt est le couvent de Profitis Ilias, le plus haut sommet de la montagne (567 m). Nous pouvons profiter de la vue impressionnante et époustouflante. Aujourd'hui, le couvent abrite une importante collection d'images saintes, de livres manuscrits et d'objets ecclésiastiques rares.
Après le couvent, nous visiterons le village de Pyrgos qui était autrefois l'ancienne capitale de l'île. Au centre du village se trouvent le château médiéval, plusieurs églises, des maisons traditionnelles et des ruelles pittoresques !
Notre arrêt suivant est la plage rouge. Son nom est un signe révélateur de ce que les visiteurs rencontreront en s'en approchant. Et pourtant, cette plage est en fait rouge : des rochers rouges impressionnants qui forment des falaises abruptes, du sable rouge et une mer d'un bleu profond, reflétant aussi le rouge vif du paysage. Un paysage véritablement "étranger" que les scientifiques n'ont peut-être rencontré que sur… Mars, la "planète rouge" - sans la belle mer bien sûr !
La plage de Perivolos est célèbre pour son sable noir volcanique, offrant un cadre unique au bord de la mer. Le long de la plage, vous trouverez une variété de bars de plage et de restaurants où vous pourrez déguster une boisson rafraîchissante ou un délicieux repas.

We were referred to Mina with Art of Travel by a friend and we were not disappointed! Mina was excellent at communication, especially as we were making arrangements for pick up. She and the driver were very accommodating, friendly, and knowledgable about the island. Although the time flies by, we were able to see several beaches and adjust our tour as needed. Very comfortable travel accommodations. It was especially touching that she gifted each couple a gift at the end of the tour - thank you!

So we started talking with her a couple of weeks prior to our trip. When we finally met up with her, she showed us so many beautiful places on Santorini. A beautiful day touring Fira and Oia with Mina and Pantelis. Mina and her husband took care of us like family from the moment we met. We had the most amazing time visiting the entire island. Making stops along the way and making the day go by in an instant. When it was done we wished to do it all over again. It is not often you meet such amazing people who you can consider a friend instantly and look forward to seeing them again soon.
Mina and her husband are absolute gems. I am SO THANKFUL that my girlfriend and I booked a private tour with them. They took us to all the important spots, obviously, for shopping and sightseeing, but it was the local tour, the history, and attention to detail that put it over the top. What an unbelievably generous and welcoming couple that allowed us to have probably one of the best tours and views of Santorini you could possibly have. When you're exchanging gifts, hugging goodbye, and promising to see each other again, you've not only been on an excellent excursion, you've met excellent friends for life. Our guide, Mina, and her husband were delightful! We had only one night in Santorini, and they certainly made the most of it! Mina gave us an overview of the sights they could take us to, and then asked for our input. We saw everything from gorgeous red and black beaches to beautiful towns. The highlight of the many things we saw was having wine and watching the beautiful sunset in Oia. Mina was knowledgeable and engaging! We highly recommend this tour!
