Elle a repris le commerce de gros du marché vieillissant de Tsukiji et offre aux touristes la possibilité d'observer l'action du marché et de dîner dans les restaurants de ses grands locaux modernes.
Les vestiges de la tour principale du château d'Edo, des jardins de fleurs de saison comme des roses, des bambous, des cerisiers en fleurs, des théiers, des vergers d'espèces classiques et autres entourent la pelouse. Est un jardin spacieux et tentaculaire au centre de Tokyo. C'est la seule partie du palais intérieur ouverte au public.
C'est l'un des temples les plus colorés et les plus populaires de Tokyo. La légende raconte qu'en 628, deux frères ont pêché une statue de Kannon, la déesse de la miséricorde, dans la rivière Sumida, et même s'ils ont remis la statue dans la rivière, elle leur est toujours revenue. Par conséquent, Sensoji a été construit à proximité pour la déesse Kannon. Le temple fut achevé en 645, ce qui en fait le temple le plus ancien de Tokyo.
C'est la pièce maîtresse de la ville de Tokyo Skytree, dans le quartier de Sumida, non loin d'Asakusa. Avec une hauteur de 634 mètres (634 peut être lu comme « Musashi », nom historique de la région de Tokyo), c'est la plus haute structure du Japon et la deuxième plus haute du monde au moment de son achèvement. Un grand complexe commercial avec un aquarium est situé à sa base.

Had a 10 hour layover in Tokyo so decided to book a tour with Xplorjapan ( process is seamless via WhatsApp) and requested Ryu Fuse as my guide/driver who was highly recommended by my sister in law. By the time I arrived at Haneda , Ryu was already there and patiently waited for me as I changed for the colder weather of Tokyo compared to Manila and Bangkok. He drove a Toyota Alphard so I did bring my carry on to the minivan instead of putting it in a locker. Fir this time of the year, naje sure to bring gloves and hat because by noon , the wind picked up. Ryu is very fluent in English so I had fun talking to him during rides between sights and he was quite knowledgeable about the history of each destination. Since I am by myself , he was kind enough to take my pictures except for the couple of places ( Shibuya and portion of Senso-ji Temple) where he had to stay with the van. My impressions- Shibuya and Skytree were OK since I live only 4 hours away from New York City. Anamori had the Torii gates which I wanted to see and it inspires me to want to see the original ones in Kyoto. I would go back and spend more time in Senso- ji. Others were turned off by the somewhat commercialized main street infront of the temple but I love the vibrant energy of it including the side streets. The crowd was mostly locals and loved seeing some of them in their kimonos. It gave me a little insight into the real Japanese lifestyle/culture( food) with some help also from Ryu. The last destination was another super crowded area, the Harujuku/Takeshita Sts. Saw a few young people in cosplay.. A must see but once is enough. Ryu dropped me off at Haneda with enough time to get through the super crowded security check- in and make it to my gate with time to relax before boarding. I have been to European and Middle East cities and none compare to Tokyo in its cleanliness!!! I was glad I booked this Tokyo tour with Xplorjapan and had Ryu as my guide, instead of hanging around the terminal.

Ryu, our driver/guide was excellent and professional in every way. Each place/landmark we stopped at, he tells the history of the place. He also gives recommendations of the best place to eat local traditional Japanese food. Ryu was Super helpful. He is also great at taking photos, we like all the pictures he took of us.
