Le sanctuaire Meiji (明治神宮, Meiji Jingū) est un sanctuaire dédié aux esprits déifiés de l'empereur Meiji et de son épouse, l'impératrice Shoken. Situé juste à côté de la station Harajuku animée de la ligne JR Yamanote, le sanctuaire Meiji et le parc Yoyogi adjacent constituent une vaste zone boisée au sein de la ville densément bâtie. Les vastes terrains du sanctuaire offrent des sentiers pédestres parfaits pour une promenade relaxante. Le sanctuaire a été achevé et dédié à l'empereur Meiji et à l'impératrice Shoken en 1920, huit ans après le décès de l'empereur et six ans après le décès de l'impératrice. Le sanctuaire a été détruit pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale mais a été reconstruit peu de temps après.
Harajuku (原宿) fait référence à la zone autour de la gare Harajuku de Tokyo, qui se situe entre Shinjuku et Shibuya sur la ligne Yamanote. C'est le centre des cultures adolescentes et des styles de mode les plus extrêmes du Japon, mais il propose également des boutiques pour adultes et des sites historiques. Le point central de la culture adolescente de Harajuku est Takeshita Dori (Takeshita Street) et ses rues latérales, qui sont bordées de nombreux magasins branchés, boutiques de mode, magasins de vêtements d'occasion, stands de crêpes et établissements de restauration rapide destinés aux adolescents soucieux de la mode et des tendances.

Le seul endroit où 7 carrefours se rejoignent et les feux passent tous au rouge en même temps. Des milliers de piétons traversent alors tous en même temps. Juste incroyable.
Construite en 1958, la tour de Tokyo est un symbole de la renaissance de Tokyo après la Seconde Guerre mondiale. La structure imposante mesure 333 mètres de haut, devenant un spot photo omniprésent pour les touristes. Deux ponts d'observation offrent une vue imprenable sur la ville et un complexe de quatre étages au rez-de-chaussée propose des boutiques, de la nourriture et des divertissements. Malheureusement, lors de notre visite, à cause de Covid, il était fermé pour visiter les ponts d'observation. Pourtant, nous avons été très impressionnés, surtout avec ses lumières la nuit. Il est juste à côté du temple Zozogi et facilement accessible depuis les stations Hamamatsucho ou Daimon ou les stations Onarimon ou Akabenebashi.
Ce temple bien connu se dresse à côté de la tour de Tokyo et son terrain abrite le mausolée de la famille Tokugawa.
Le Japon est connu pour ses fruits de mer frais, et cette visite en petit groupe explore le marché aux poissons extérieur de Tsukiji, où les meilleurs chefs de Tokyo achètent du poisson de haute qualité. Votre guide vous guide à travers le vaste marché vieux de 80 ans pour visiter les poissonniers et les vendeurs de nourriture. Dégustez une gamme de sushis, d'omelettes à la japonaise, de galettes de poisson frit, de saké et de thé japonais dans cette expérience approfondie du marché légendaire.
Le palais actuel a été construit au même endroit où se dressait le château d'Edo. La plupart des terrains du palais ne sont pas ouverts au public, à l'exception des jardins de l'Est, qui sont accessibles certains jours.
La Tokyo Skytree (東京スカイツリー) est une tour de télédiffusion et un point de repère de Tokyo. C'est la pièce maîtresse de la ville de Tokyo Skytree dans le quartier de la ville de Sumida, non loin d'Asakusa. Avec une hauteur de 634 mètres (634 peut être lu comme "Musashi", un nom historique de la région de Tokyo), c'est la structure la plus haute du Japon et la deuxième plus haute du monde au moment de son achèvement. Un grand complexe commercial avec un aquarium est situé à sa base.
Ce quartier populaire de Tokyo abrite de nombreux magasins et restaurants ainsi que le célèbre temple Senso-ji.
Sensoji (浅草寺, Sensōji, également connu sous le nom de temple Asakusa Kannon) est un temple bouddhiste situé à Asakusa. C'est l'un des temples les plus colorés et les plus populaires de Tokyo. La légende dit qu'en l'an 628, deux frères ont pêché une statue de Kannon, la déesse de la miséricorde, dans la rivière Sumida, et même s'ils ont remis la statue dans la rivière, elle leur est toujours revenue. Par conséquent, Sensoji a été construit à proximité pour la déesse de Kannon. Le temple a été achevé en 645, ce qui en fait le plus ancien temple de Tokyo.
Les magasins de ce quartier vendent du matériel de cuisine et des fournitures de papier aux restaurants de la ville. Il convient de noter les produits alimentaires en plastique de spécialité, qui sont placés dans les fenêtres des restaurants pour montrer aux passants quelles friandises sont servies à l'intérieur.

Hiro is a wonderful tour Guide. He speaks excellent English and is very knowledgeable about Tokyo. We had a wonderful full day excursion around Tokyo. Was a wonderful tour! Our tour guide , Hiro showed around all several areas in Tokyo. He told us the history and showed us all the customs for the shrines. As it was mine and my husband first time in Japan it was very useful to learn the practical aspects such as how to navigate the subways and the best places to and buy souvenirs etc. We also stopped for some Sushi at a place recommended by Hiro which was delicious and also provided useful information on what to order and how best to eat the Sushi. Overall I would recommend this tour for any first time visitors to Japan - we had a fabulous time.

We loved our time with Mr. Hiri, who is an excellent and kind guide to his home city of Tokyo! We asked to walk the Imperial palace grounds on a hot day then visit Tsukiji and he was very kind and accomodating even to our grumpy, hot littles. He helped us visit an air conditioned Buddhist temple and fish market as well! After an amazing sushi place he rec'd, we had matcha ice cream from the same street. He helped us hail a cab and sent us off with a smile :-) We will recommend him to our friends & family visiting as you can learn so much more culture and history with a bilingual native!

Hiro is a great guide. Very knowledgeable not only in Japanese culture and history but also is very knowledgeable about many countries and their histories. Unfortunately, while I was there, they were having a heat and high humidity problem. But Hiro made the best of it keeping my tour as indoors as possible. Highly recommend.

This was our family's first visit to Japan and a friend highly recommended our tour guide, Hiro-san, who was lovely, highly informative, and accommodating. We had an excellent tour of Tokyo with Hiro-san over two days! Right after I booked the tour, he reached out to understand our interests. I asked a lot of questions and he answered them promptly. Hiro-san speaks fluent English and is very organized. As it's our first time in Tokyo, he helped us navigate the subway system and always make sure we know how to return to our hotel after our tour.
