The best tour in Victoria. Graham is a spectacular tour guide. He provided a lot of history about Victoria, we stopped for coffee and one of the best fish and chips lunches we’ve ever had. If you are planning to spend time in the town, contact Graham for a tour. You will thoroughly enjoy him and the tour.
This tour was very good! Informative, pleasant, good historical perspectives. Got to see all of the important landmarks. Highly recommend this tour if heading to Victoria!
Our first day in Victoria was wonderful. We had a full day seeing all the wonderful parts of Victoria. Graham was very knowledgeable and wonderful. Thanks
I would recommend the tour to friends and family. We had a lovely walk around Victoria, through the Royal Museum, and Parliament building. Excellent!
Graham was very kind and friendly and showed me around beautiful Victoria. I was lucky to have him as my guide. The high tea experience was fantastic! They sure know how to do tea!!.
Booked this tour based on the itinerary and expecting a personal, focussed day learning about the history of Victoria. Graham was a very pleasant and engaging person, who clearly has a passion for what he does. We had a number of interesting conversations throughout the day on life in Victoria in the modern day, British Columbia and its politics etc. However the tour itself was lacking. It felt very much like there wasn’t really a set itinerary and instead it was a trip round Graham’s favourite haunts. We made several laps of the main city area (which we had done the day before ourselves) and stopped overly long in Murchies for coffee which whilst pleasant, we had to pay for ourselves and we didn’t really want a coffee at that point as we had hardly got going. We did a random stop in a book shop and then went to the Maritime Museum. This stop was particularly awkward as Graham attempted to get us in for a donation and was refused. We felt uncomfortable so quickly walked around and left. The BC museum was closed due to industrial action so we couldn’t go there Despite its inclusion on the itinerary on Tripadvisor, we weren’t offered the visit to Craigdurroch Castle as promised (we did this ourselves later in the week and it’s great). This would have been a highlight had we gone there. We killed some time in a bar next to the wharf, again feeling uncomfortable as Graham had negotiated 5 mins but we were there way longer and the waitresses kept approaching us to take drinks orders and getting declined. We then went to the Legislature for the tour, but couldn’t finish it as we had to hurry to Graham’s car to be driven to some gardens for ‘high tea’. The tea was nice but basically was in a wooden bungalow and then the gardens themselves were a 5 min walk around at best. I have seen the comments around taking the ‘scenic’ route but basically this is a slight detour by Spiral Beach, ironically close to the castle we didn’t see. Again we did this ourselves on a different day. Most of the facts delivered throughout the tour were disproved either by official material, other tour guides or in certain cases reading the plaque underneath the item being discussed. It was a pleasant day in the city with a nice person but honestly neither what we expected nor worth the money paid and I would not recommend it to others.
Graham was a delightful wealth of knowledge about the area and all the various stops along our day. It was a wonderful day
We really enjoyed our time with Graham. We loved that he took us to Abkhazi Gardens the “scenic” way. Also loved his stories about his time in London. Highly recommend!
