Had an amazing morning with Mago! He was super engaging, had alot of stories, showed and told us so much about the history of Monaco, Eze and Saint-Paul. He's also an amazing photographer haha! Thanks for a fun time out
We had the most wonderful day touring with Mago. He knew so much about the history of the area and had access to some of the most exclusive places. Words can’t describe how much we enjoyed our day. We saw more and learned more than I ever expected. I would definitely book other trips with Mago and recommend you do so as well.
The experience with Unique Tours and Mago as the tour guide was exceptional. He arrived on time, displayed expert knowledge of the areas visited, and accommodated our requests for refreshment stops, yet still kept the tour schedule. I would book again without hesitation Unique Tours Riviera. The only caution is that this particular tour requires navigating a number of stone steps. If you have mobility concerns, you may wish to check in advance.
This tour was fantastic…because it wasn’t a tour…it was an experience. Mago read our family instantly and connected to us by name. He tailored the interests to a history buff, a shopper, a photographer, a teenager and a combo of all. We experienced the history, story, architecture, art, influences, personality, culture, tastes and nuances. He made us feel like these unknown treasures of our lives had been found and made sure we could take them home. Pauses and breaks to rest and take in the sights. An unhurried custom pace to ensure we did not miss key elements or moments but could still go and explore and discover as well. He flexed and could have gone for hours or moments depending on our interest. Not a question went unanswered. His degrees in history and certified tour guide status all came through for a remarkable experience. He connected our existing knowledge and awareness of history and where we came from or what we knew to this area. Touring with Mago was like connecting with a dear friend or distant family member eager to show us an area he loved so we could fall in love too. Mago knows everyone and multiple languages. He bridged gaps in translation, walked us into areas others cannot go, made sure we had the best views, best timings, and best moments. As if this areas was not enough reason to return…Mago himself made us plan our next trip back. From artists and celebrities to personalities and perfectly timed use of technology to take us to all moments in time…Mago is an exceptional pro with friendliness and human relations skills that make him the envy of his guide industry. We will be back and recommend him to all our family and friends. Do not miss this experience with a guide par excellence!
Eze and Saint-Paul de Vence are definitely places to visit while in Monte Carlo. Beautiful areas that should not be missed. Our guide Mago was very knowledgeable and interesting. I never stopped smiling the entire tour.
Amazing trip. Driver was very nice and friendly. He knew all the details and sights around town. 100% recommend.
Bonjour Glenn, Thank you very much for your kind review. We are very happy to know that everything went well.
Mago took us on what became a highlight of our honeymoon. He was extremely friendly; we wished we had time to get drinks with him after the tour. His gems of knowledge pertaining to medieval architecture and various eras of art history that he would weave into the tour went above and beyond what we expected; and, likely, well beyond what you would get in a more general tour by a non-certified tour guide and/or in larger groups. He described the process of becoming a certified tour guide, and based on his description, he essentially has a PhD in history. In a nut shell, that’s what you’re getting with this experience: a man with a PhD in history taking you on a tour that is in line with his personal historical interests. Setting aside his intellectual strengths, It’s clear he’s loved in his community. When we went to Eze, he was able to sneak us into an exclusive resort (thanks to his connections) that had an incredible view back at Nice; and from there, he took us to his favorite bakery in town. Every local we encountered with him throughout the tour greeted him with a huge smile. He takes the experience he knows he’s providing seriously, and it’s obvious he understands how important the tour is to his guests. He was constantly stopping us to take the best pictures, and demonstrated he’s put in the extra-curricular effort to develop his photography knowledge/skills beyond a simple lay understanding. All in the interest of preserving the memories for his guests as best as possible. In St Paul, his art history knowledge shined through. From discussing the shift in the Catholic Church which gave way to the Baroque style, to the history of a hotel/restaurant where many originals from seminal artists who stayed and worked there hang, to Picaso’s inspiration for Cubism; he was easily the most impressive and personable tour guide we enjoyed throughout our two weeks in France and Italy.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I truly felt emotional. I put a lot of myself into every tour—stories, history, humor, and real connection—so knowing you enjoyed it means more than I can say. Thank you for choosing me, and for sharing such kind words. Guests like you is exactly why I love what I do! Warmest regards, Mago
This was an incredible private tour through some of the most beautiful places of France. Mago was absolutely incredible with his knowledge of history and showed us incredible gems of the country. My mom and I had an incredible time with Mago and I highly recommend him!!
Hi Julie, thank you for the great feedback, it was my pleasure meeting with you and showing you my beautiful region. Hope to see you back again soon. Mago
We were blessed with a half day tour with Mago. The destinations exceeded already high expectations and Mago’s deep insights and sense of humour elevated the experience to a bucket list level. Mago’s English was perfect. We quite enjoyed the French language lessons he weaved into our day. Mago took special care to cater to our interests including refreshing drinks in a most scenic location in Eze and specialty shops throughout the tour. His depth of knowledge of history, art, architecture and local history was first rate. He shared all generously. It was beautiful, relaxing and most of all fun and informative. I wished our day did not end. Highly recommended!
Thank you so much for this amazing review! I truly appreciate your kind words. It was such a pleasure spending the day with you and sharing a bit of the French Riviera’s history (and a few French words too!). I am really glad you enjoyed the visit, the stops in Èze, and the little local discoveries along the way. Hearing that the tour felt both fun and meaningful means a lot to me. Merci again for choosing to tour with me — I hope our paths cross again someday! — Mago
