Le Pla de Bages est une région privilégiée entourée des montagnes mythiques des chaînes de Montserrat et Castelltallat, du parc naturel de Sant Llorenç del Munt et d'Obac. De plus, cette zone catalane a une grande tradition viticole, même une petite région, elle est l'héritière des grandes traditions viticoles du centre de la Catalogne. L'huile d'olive est un élément fondamental du régime méditerranéen , où la plupart des repas sont servis avec une bouteille d'huile d'olive à part. Pour cette raison, vivre cette expérience est un moyen de s’immerger dans la culture catalane .

Vous verrez la forme fantastique de la montagne magique de Montserrat depuis la voiture, en allant à la cave. Une fois arrivé à la cave, vous découvrirez l'ancienne cave et la nouvelle cave.
Nous visiterons une entreprise familiale, une cave biologique qui a commencé à cultiver ses propres vignobles et à travailler dans le monde du vin en 1885 et qui est aujourd'hui la cinquième génération qui prend un soin particulier dans le vignoble et s'efforce de donner le maximum de qualité à ses produits. Cette expérience comprend également une visite de la cave qui vous donnera l'occasion de visiter une ferme catalane typique et de vous promener dans les vignobles biologiques dans son environnement unique. Nous ferons connaissance avec les variétés locales comme le Picapoll blanc, le sumoll, le mandó et le Picapoll rouge, nous explorerons l'usine de production et la salle des barriques et enfin, nous ferons un avant-goût de deux vins où ils nous expliqueront tout sur ces vins accompagnés par un apéritif. Après notre expérience de dégustation de vin, nous apprendrons tout sur l'huile d'olive.
L'huile d'olive est un élément de base du régime méditerranéen, où la plupart des repas sont servis avec une bouteille d'huile d'olive à côté. Pour cette raison, vivre cette expérience est une manière de s'immerger dans la culture catalane. Cette expérience vous fera découvrir le monde magnifique de cet or liquide tout en profitant de la belle campagne de la Vall d’Hortons. En vous promenant le long des oliveraies biologiques millénaires, vous apprécierez le calme du paysage avec la vue fantastique sur les montagnes de Montserrat. En visitant l'atelier où cette huile est produite, vous apprendrez comment le processus est réalisé et, enfin, vous apprécierez une dégustation d'huile avec des produits catalans typiques et biologiques de la Vall d'Hortons comme le fromage, le miel et la charcuterie.

What a beautiful day! We were picked up at our hotel PROMPTLY by David… he drove us to an AMAZING niche Olive Oil plantation. Operated the most wonderful and knowledgeable team. THE OIL was exquisite. Of course we had to buy a bunch. 😘 Next, we travel to another small niche winery… And all we can say is …. OMG. The wine was divine, from the whites, reds, sparkling and to the fabulous aged. They also hold local events here… Weddings, teambuilding, private party and tapas and a wine bar on the weekends for locals …events… With four rooms to choose from, large to intimate the aesthetics were impressive . it’s owned by the same family for generations and the unique thing is that they have kept tools, bottles barrels and yes animal skins that wine was stored in. Very educational . Needless to say several hundred dollars later… and several cases later heading to the states. Thank goodness they ship. David’s driving was immaculate, safe and a beautiful journey we were taken back to our hotel. A memory we soon will not forget.

We had a wonderful time on this tour; thank you, Melanie! The tour was private, just GF and I, in a private car. Melanie was wonderful and knowledgable and the food and wine were delicious and seemed authentic. The locations were carefully selected and took us to some off the beaten path places. The tours we received were extensive and thorough; the guides were happy to answer our many questions. The olive oil and chocolate we bought are amazing. If you have an opportunity to work with Melanie and her company, do it! I would repeat this exact same tour in a heartbeat.

Loved this tour! Fantastic wat to end our trip! We have never done an olive oil tasting before and this was very interesting and fun. The winery was beautiful and I enjoyed every wine we tasted! I highly recommend this tour!

We had an amazing time on our Barcelona Discovery Tour! Definitely recommend the wine/olive oil tour and tour company. The communication setting up the tour was so easy. Melanie came to pick us up at our hotel and we drove through the beautiful Catalan region. It was a foggy day, but we were still able to see a little bit of Montserrat from the distance. Our first stop was a beautiful winery, where we had a private tour with Marisola. We learned about the history of the winery and their wine making process (both old and new). We had a tasting of some great wines and an impressive spread including cheese, meat, bread, tomato, pate, chocolate, etc to accompany our wines in one of the historic stone houses. The wines and the experience were great! One of the best vineyard tours we've been on. The wines were really good and we ended up buying some to take home. Our second stop was the olive oil tasting and tour. We had a private tasting and tour with Aena. We learned about the history of the olive orchard, what to look for in tasting, did a tasting, and then walked around the beautiful orchard. It was an awesome and new experience as we never did a olive oil tasting before. The olive oil was great and we ended up buying olive oil and chocolate for gifts. It was an awesome day! Thanks to Melanie, we could not have been more happy with our tour. Barcelona Discovery does an awesome job of partnering with great wineries, olive orchards, and different experiences. We had such a great time. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Spain!
