Easy drive, interesting experience, good lunch, and a good time. Driver and guide were both excellent.
Wonderful Nico and his driver were prompt, courteous and caring. We met in Izmir Port- had a great, comfortable, day! Nico steered the 4 of is away from the crowds, engaged us with his knowledge of history and mythology with good humor and energy!
The experience was really good. Nico was exceptional at giving a lot of background on the sites and the history of Turkey. He explained things very concisely and wanted to make sure that we understood all that he was telling us. They were on time to pick us up from our cruise ship. Our driver was also good and trusted him to get us around.
Punctuality and preparation of the guide . beautiful archaeological sites. suggestive and memorable place of the House of Mary
Had an amazing day sightseeing and made even better with our tour guide Devran Was very informative, knowledgeable and a very nice person who was happy to accommodate some extras we asked for. Highly recommend this tour and if you can ask for Devran do so he will make it an unforgettable day
We had an amazing experience ,made even better by Devran our tour guide he was extremely knowledgeable and everything we asked for he was very happy to accomodate. If you can ask for him ,do so ,your tour will be that much better
We were a family of 5 looking to see a few local sites and also wanted a reputable company to allow us to get back to cruise terminal on time. The host Devran was charming and knowledgeable. Make sure you read all the small print ie what’s included and what isn’t. I booked this tour basing it being much more competitive that TUI What we didn’t realise was the tickets to the attractions made it virtually the same price. (Our fault completely). The tour guide then stated they were taking us to see how local ceramics/pottery was made. This was interesting extra showcasing someone making an item on the pottery wheel and my daughter being given the opportunity to have a go too. We were then escorted into a shop where we were encouraged to buy items. This is where we were told the price was set at US Dollars when we asked for a comparison for Turkish leira it became unclear. One of the items was a small ceramic spoon which had £1.50 on a sticker. When I sought clarification it was actually £150 (one hundred and fifty). My cousin had chosen 3 small items which were charged at over £200 when she realised they did offer full refund. This did taint the whole experience and we did feel the whole experience wasn’t try and hard sell us items. After this new were taken to look at how carpets were made the traditional way and again we had no idea we were going to this attraction. Again very interesting and we were offered drinks etc and told they were not looking to hard sell us items etc. Although they continued with their full sales pitch etc which wasn’t something we had asked for or wanted at either place. We bought small items out of being polite, at the first factory, but then felt we had been misleaded by the staff. After this we did enjoy a Turkish BBQ meal which was very enjoyable. Again we were told this was included, however we were then charged for 3 beers we had. The host was then unexpectedly went away on a family emergency and we were left with the driver who took us back to the port terminal. Quite mixed feelings about the tour hense the rating.
Devran and our driver were the best team ever. We got the best sites and views (and pictures) with Devran. He made sure we knew the history behind the sites we were seeing and was well versed in both Christian and Muslim knowledge. We enjoyed learning from him and chatting about local customs. We had the best lunch at the carpet making school and saw beautiful locally crafted pottery. We had the most fantastic day. They were very time conscious of our cruise ship limitations. Highly recommend Devran and the tour team!
This tour was very informative, with a very knowledgeable guide. We chose the private tour and it felt so personal and exclusive. I would highly recommend this company for whatever tour you might be interested in doing.
Our guide was very knowledgeable. Very friendly and learned a lot. Our driver got us back to the cruise ship in time.
