Dans cette excursion d'une journée, nous faisons l'expérience du riche patrimoine culturel d'Hyderabad, la ville des perles. L'itinéraire couvre l'envoûtant fort de Golconda, les majestueuses tombes de Qutub Shahi, l'opulent palais Choumahalla des Nizams, qui étaient autrefois le peuple le plus riche de la Terre, et l'emblématique Charminar, qui est symbolique d'Hyderabad.

Itinéraire
Nous nous dirigeons vers Golconda, située à 11 km de la ville d’Hyderabad. Le fort de Golconde est sans doute la plus grande forteresse de colline de l'Inde. Construit en 1143 après JC pour servir de fort dans la boue, il fut fortifié entre le XIVe et le XVIIe siècle et fut le principal palais des sultans Bahmani et de la dynastie Qutb Shahi. Notre guide fera revivre l'histoire de ce fort et la manière dont il a façonné l'avenir d'Hyderabad et de ses habitants.
Les tombes de Qutub Shahi ont été érigées à la mémoire des vieux rois de Golconde. L'arc, les colonnes, les minarets à dôme et les galeries ont l'air exquis et sont entourés de jardins appelés Ibrahim Bagh. Selon la légende, ces tombes ont été vénérées pendant la domination des rois Qutub Shahi et même les criminels réfugiés ici ont été graciés.
Nous visitons Choumahalla, le palais des Nizams qui étaient à une époque les personnes les plus riches du monde. Certaines des sections remarquables de ce palais comprennent une fontaine d'eau, des voitures anciennes, des sculptures complexes, des lustres en verre et le grand hall du durbar. À l'apogée des Nizams, jusqu'à 7 000 préposés occupaient ce palais ! Notre guide vous donnera un aperçu de la vie personnelle et politique des Nizams d'Hyderabad. Le vendredi, nous visiterons Birla Mandir au lieu du palais Choumahalla car ce dernier est fermé
Notre prochaine destination est Charminar, un monument symbolique de la ville d’Hyderabad. Il a été construit en 1591 par Mohammed Quli Qutb Shahi, le cinquième sultan de la dynastie Qutub Shahi, afin de commémorer la fin d'une attaque de peste meurtrière dans la ville. Notre guide vous passionnera avec des légendes telles que la présence d'un tunnel secret sous Charminar qui reliait le Fort de Golconde, créé comme un moyen d'évasion pour la famille royale en temps de détresse.

Our guide was the most knowledgeable guide we have ever had on a tour. He was friendly, and helpful. If I could give him six stars, I would. It was interesting to see the things on the tour. But what made it so interesting was all the information our guide gave us. We feel like we really got a feel for the history of Hyderabad for the last 500 years. Excellent!
My mom aunt and partner thoroughly enjoyed our day discovering Hyderabad with Jolly John! He gave us an authentic experience only a local could.

Great way to see Hyderabad on a restricted timescale. Wonderful sights, but felt slightly hurried at times. Guide could have had better English, but was a good standard and informative. He and driver were very considerate and went out of their way to be helpful, showing us additional sites and photo opportunities. Felt very safe with them. Thanks to Azam and Karim for being very attentive and making us feel very welcomed to this fascinating city.

Picked up promptly at my Hotel by Azam, my tour guide, and our driver. Azam skilfully organised the itinerary so that we missed the crowds and made the most of the good weather ( rainy season at present) we saw all the major sights, Charminar, Hussain Sagar lake and Buddha Statue. Golconda Fort, Nizams Palace , Salar Jung Museum, Birla Mandi Temple. We stopped for lunch at 1pm, included in the price. Azam displayed good knowledge of the history of Hyderabad, and nothing was too much trouble. Would thoroughly recommend if you have limited time to see the major sites.

I was very fortunate to be able to go on this tour by Five Senses. We went to many fabulous places in an air conditioned minivan and had a wonderful authentic south Indian lunch in a nice restaurant. The whole experience lasted around 12 hours, and the guides and driver made sure we were all comfortable and having a pleasant experience. We started at the Goconda Fort and finished at the Charminar, and there was much to see in between.
