La visite d'Athènes commence par la colline de l'Acropole qui fera de votre journée. Sur la colline historique, vous aurez l'occasion de voir l'Odéon d'Hérode Atticus, le Temple de l'Athéna Nike, la passerelle monumentale (Propylaea), l'Erechtheum et bien sûr le célèbre Parthénon, le principal temple dédié à la déesse vierge Athéna .
Les Propylées sont les entrées monumentales de la zone sacrée dédiée à Athéna, la déesse patronne de la ville. Construit par l'architecte Mnesicles avec du marbre pentélique, leur design était avant-gardiste. Au sud-ouest des Propylées, sur un rempart protégeant l'entrée principale de l'Acropole, se trouve le temple ionien d'Apteros Nike.
Parthénon, le temple principal dédié à la déesse vierge Athéna. Le symbole éternel de la démocratie athénienne et de la civilisation occidentale.
Temple de Poséidon et d'Athéna, l'endroit le plus étrange et le plus sacré de l'Athènes antique.

Le Théâtre de Dionysos Elefthereus est un théâtre majeur à Athènes, considéré comme le premier théâtre du monde, construit au pied de l'Acropole athénienne.
L'Odéon d'Hérode Atticus est une structure de théâtre romain en pierre située sur le versant sud-ouest de l'Acropole d'Athènes, en Grèce. Le bâtiment a été achevé en 161 après JC, puis rénové en 1950.
Après l'Acropole, nous nous dirigerons vers le Temple de Zeus, le plus grand temple de l'Antiquité, consacré au Roi des Dieux, en passant par l'Arche d'Hadrien.
Nous visiterons le stade panathénaïque où les premiers Jeux Olympiques modernes ont eu lieu en 1896.
Puis en entrant dans le centre historique de la ville, nous monterons la plus haute colline d'Athènes, la colline du Lycabette, où vous aurez la meilleure vue panoramique de la ville, de la colline de l'Acropole à la mer Égée.
Le Parlement hellénique, en grec connu sous le nom de Voulí ton Ellínon, est le parlement de la Grèce, situé dans l'ancien palais royal, surplombant la place Syntagma à Athènes. Le Parlement est l'institution démocratique suprême qui représente les citoyens à travers un corps élu de députés.
Nous verrons la relève de la garde (Euzones) devant l'ancien palais, qui est aujourd'hui le Parlement, au-dessus de la place centrale d'Athènes.
La place Syntagma est la place centrale d'Athènes. La place porte le nom de la Constitution qu'Otto, le premier roi de Grèce, fut obligé d'accorder après un soulèvement populaire et militaire le 3 septembre 1843.
Le bâtiment de l'Académie constitue l'une des trois parties d'une «trilogie architecturale». Elle a été fondée par le décret constitutionnel du 18 mars 1926, en tant qu'académie des sciences, des lettres et des beaux-arts.
L'Université nationale et kapodistrienne d'Athènes est la plus grande institution publique d'enseignement supérieur en Grèce et parmi les plus grandes universités d'Europe. La splendide université d'Athènes a été conçue par l'architecte danois Christian Hansen et achevée en 1864.
La Bibliothèque nationale de Grèce a été construite à la fin du 19ème siècle, comme le dernier de la trilogie architecturale d'Athènes, un groupe de trois bâtiments néoclassiques qui comprend également l'Académie et l'Université. Le bâtiment a été conçu par Theophil Hansen.
Glyfada est une banlieue du sud d'Athènes où se trouvent la vie nocturne estivale et les célèbres plages.

Vouliagmeni est célèbre pour les plages de sable fin des hôtels de luxe et, bien sûr, pour son lac naturel, protégé par Natura 2000.

Nous verrons le temple de Poséidon dominant au-dessus du Mer Égée et vestiges du temple Athéna Souniada. Outre l'emplacement unique et l'intérêt archéologique, le cap Sounio est également connu pour son coucher de soleil à couper le souffle et sa vue sur les îles grecques. Il est considéré comme l'un des endroits les plus romantiques de Grèce. L'endroit où Lord Byron a écrit et chéri.
Nous rentrerons à Athènes.

Loved our tour & guide! Nikos was very knowledgeable of the history & mythology of the areas. Very accommodating when needed a short stop.
This was a great tour that covered a lot in one day. Nikos was a great driver and guide and was very knowledgeable of all the sights. We also appreciated that he was flexible with our needs and interests.
We went with 2 children and 2 adults. It was a wonderful experience. Panos was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. On the ride to each site, he explained about the culture and mythology. The kids were engaged and we all enjoyed the tour. A+++

We, a family of three including a teenager, spent a couple nights in Athens after visiting the islands. We only had one full day to see the city and the nearby sights so we booked this particular tour and boy! did we make the perfect decision. Dimitris, our private guide and driver, was an absolute professional. He was very warm and welcoming. He picked us on time, took us to all the must-see places covered in the itinerary and amazingly, he is a human encyclopedia on Greek history and mythology. He explained the minute historical details of all the places along the way and we really enjoyed the ride and his company. The admission fee to the Acropolis and the Temple of Poseidon was covered in the tour. It was pouring heavily on the day but Dimitris didn't let that dampen our spirits and he kept us engaged throughout the trip and provided valuable tidbits about Greek mythology. He offered us water, stopped for coffees, took photos, explained the history, he just catered to all our needs selflessly. I'd highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Athens and if you're lucky, Dimitris will be a fantastic guide.

Stefanos was amazing. We had a wonderful day. We loved the tour and Stefanos brought so much culture an information to every activity. We did a morning and afternoon tour to the Acropolis and Parthenon and Poseidon's Temple with the most amazing sunset in the evening. I highly recommend this tour. There was a wildfire when we were here and the communication was amazing as well as the service. Just wear your walking shoes!!

Stefanos was prompt, met us at the port in his nice clean car & took us to all the major highlights including the changing of the guard at the Presidential palace & drove all the way to the Posiedon temple. We ate at a wonderful seaside restaurant & ate a traditional Greek lunch. Wonderful! Stefanos was full of energy & knew all the history of the area. I would strongly recommend this trip! The only thing I might do differently next time is when you enter the Acropolis you can hire a guide to give you the details as you go. Stefanos was not able to go in with us. He gives you a little over an hour to do it on your own & tells you about everything beforehand but it was still overwhelming & I think it would have been nice to have someone walking it with us & pointing out details.

Perhaps the smartest thing I did on our entire 14 day vacation was to add a guide to our tour of Athens. With only one day in port (on a cruise) I really wanted to make sure my family got as much exposure as possible and these guys checked ALL the boxes. Our guide Martina was able to avoid the worst of the crowds at the Parthenon and pointed out all of the hills, telling us stories about the development and history of Athens. Once at the Parthenon there isn’t much marked so my family would have just been lost and overwhelmed without Martina. Perhaps even better than the sites was just hanging out with Martina and our driver, Panos. Their rapport with each other was wonderful, they told stories together and reminded each other of little tidbits we might want to know. Panos got us seemlessly from one place to the next, always looking out for our comfort and safety. With these two we had the best of both worlds- a deep understanding of the history and myth of Athens and a beautiful peek at the lives and gracious nature of the Greek people. I appreciate the gifts of their time and knowledge- thank you Martina and Panos!!
