Loved the private tour guide Marcel that picked us up and drove us to the Hoover Dam. We stopped at a look out point for Lake Mead, walked across the bridge to have a full view of the Hoover Dam and did the power plant tour. He was just great and quite informative. For sure do the tour of the power station. To see the size is incredible.
We're pleased that Marcello made the experience enjoyable and informative. The views of Lake Mead and Hoover Dam are truly spectacular, and we're glad you had such a great time.
Bob was our tour guide and he did a fantastic job!
Thank you! We’re so glad Robert made your tour fantastic.
The Hoover Dam experience was absolutely a must-do during our Vegas trip! The entire experience took about 6 hours total, and every part of it was worth it. It was such an amazing opportunity to learn about the history of the Hoover Dam while also enjoying some incredible scenery and views along the way. Pictures honestly do not do it justice. A huge shoutout to our tour guide, Dan Armstrong, who made the experience even better. He was extremely welcoming, funny, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable. You can tell he genuinely enjoys what he does, and he made learning about the Hoover Dam both entertaining and memorable. His energy kept the whole tour enjoyable from start to finish. If you’re visiting Las Vegas, I highly recommend adding this tour to your itinerary. It’s a perfect mix of history, sightseeing, and fun, and definitely one of the highlights of our trip!
Thank you! We’re glad you enjoyed the perfect mix of history, scenery, and fun with Dan.
Loved the tour! The guide was amazing and well worth the few hours you spend at each spot! My tour started at 10 and I was pretty much on the tour until about 3 or 4pm!
Thank you for the great review! We’re so happy you enjoyed the tour and had an amazing guide.
Great to see the hoover dam but didn't feel it was necessary to stop in Boulder City when we could have spent more time at the dam and been able to go into the gift shop but by the time the generator tour was over, we barely had enough time to get back to the bus after spending what felt like a few short minutes on the actual dam Also, not the drivers fault but there were extremely unruly children in the back and it made it hard to hear what information he was giving and what the video he played said.
Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate your comments regarding the tour schedule and onboard experience and are glad you had the opportunity to visit Hoover Dam.
Ive emailed customer service AND texted them and have gotten no response. Regarding Hoover Dam Tour on 3/14: Just had a disappointing bus tour to Hoover Dam. Our driver “Robert L” was nice enough but not the best guide. He rambled for the entire trip and kept losing his train of thought. To the point that he completely missed our first exit to the Dam. Had to go past to the next exit and turn around. After the damn tour we had to wait 10 minutes for two people that were late. I realize it’s not your fault. But then the driver took us to a lookout that was “not part of the trip” to a junky gift shop “that was much cheaper than the dam gift shop”. So that wasted 20 more minutes. We get on the road to the scheduled lookout only for someone to be late returning back from that as well. As we finally get on the interstate, he says “oh wait I’m flappin!” He had opened one of the under bay doors when we stopped and hadn’t gotten it closed so we had to PULL OVER ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY and he had to get out and close it. So by the time we got to Boulder City we literally had 20 minutes which isn’t enough time for anything. All that to get back on the bus and get headed back to Treasure Island and the vents are blowing HOT AIR. A passenger up front is trying to get his attention but he won’t stop talking long enough to even notice. The passenger finally brings it to his attention and he says “yeah I don’t know what’s happening! We’ve had trouble with the AC on this one!” So admittedly the AC is faulty on this bus. It’s almost 90 degrees out and we have the entire ride back with hot air blowing in our faces. I was absolutely sick by the time we got back. Really disappointing and I expect some sort of compensation for the AC not working. If I had known that on the front end I would NOT have taken this tour. THE LACK OF FOLLOW UP FROM CUSTOMER SERVICE IS UNNACCEPTABLE. ESPECIALLY REGARDING THE BROKEN AIR CONDITIONING ON THE BUS THAT THEY WERE ALREADY HAVING PROBLEMS WITH. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. The experience you described does not reflect the level of service we aim to provide, and your detailed feedback is being reviewed by our operations and customer service teams. Our customer service team will contact you directly.
Robert gave a great tour. It was worth the time and money would do another tour next time we visit.
We're so glad to hear Robert gave a great tour. Wonderful to know it was worth your time and money.
Overall we enjoyed the tiur. However, after we left the dam and went on top of the mountain on the Arizona side, we exited the bus. When we were ready to board, the door was already open with the bus running. After taking our seats, a male with what appears to be special needs started playing with the bus controls. He honked the horn, got on the microphone, and sat in the driver's seat. I was terrified that he would figure out how to put the bus in gear and thought we'd go right over the railing. Just as I told my son to get off the bus, his family appeared at the door and got him to go to his seat. He kept saying "I did it, did you see me". The bus should have never been left running and unattended. Things could have taken a bad turn.
Thank you for your feedback. While we’re glad you enjoyed the tour overall, we apologize for the incident at the Arizona overlook. You are right—the bus should never have been left running and unattended. This does not reflect our safety standards, and we understand how alarming that situation must have been. We are addressing this with our team and reinforcing procedures to ensure this does not happen again.
We did the Hoover Dam highlights tour that also included stops at the Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge and a quick stop at Boulder City. Our guide, Robert, was awesome. He’s so full of knowledge about Hoover Dam history, Boulder city & all things Vegas. I highly recommend our guide! The bus ride was comfortable and with Robert talking about history and fun facts, it made the ride enjoyable. Total time we had to walk and roam the Hoover dam was about 1 hour 10 minutes. It was plenty of time. You could buy extra ticket to tour the inside generators but we didn’t do it. The facility also has a cafe and gift shop. The tour price is very reasonable as well. Our family really enjoyed the day. We were picked up at 10 AM (TI) and back to same pick up spot by 3:30 PM Lunch is not included but the 30 minute stop in Boulder city was enough time for us to pick up a quick bite to eat from 2:30-3:00PM. Tour guide provided water bottles and there was a bathroom on board as well.
Thank you for your thoughtful review. We’re pleased to hear that Robert’s knowledge and enthusiasm added so much to your Hoover Dam Tour. It’s also great to know the timing, transportation, and amenities met your needs.
The Hoover Dam is truly an incredible, massive marvel to see in person. My girlfriend and I got this experience through Go City, and it was my favorite use of it! We upgraded to the Power Plant tour, which, as a general nerd, was the highlight of the whole experience for me. Shoutout to our driver and tour guide, Robert, for being entertaining and a *very* good bus driver (he said he has 6 million miles under his belt. That might have been the most impressive fact of the whole tour!). Pickup was just before 10a, and we got back by 4p. We had just enough time for the power plant tour and to walk the dam, got a quick stop to view Lake Mead, and wrapped the day up in Boulder City.
Great to hear you enjoyed the Hoover Dam experience and that Robert made the tour fun and smooth. We’re glad everything fit together so well for your visit!
