When they say to meet at the So entrance to the park on state street it is not the obvious park on State Street. It’s the one across the street facing the old Custom House. Neither park displayed names or entrances, making it confusing.
Wonderful experience with a lot of US history information regarding the building and lower Manhattan.
We had a great experience on this tour! Our tour guide Dan was very enthusiastic, kind, and knowledgeable and we learned a lot! It was fun to learn about the true history compared to the Hamilton musical. Our group dressed up in costume for a bachelorette celebration and Dan was a great sport and willing to take pictures and go along with the fun!
We were fortunate to have Dan for this tour where he provided a well summarized account of the founding fathers and key milestones in this section of the city going back to the late 1700s. He combined modern day facts about the financial district along with many of the stories surrounding the establishment of federal departments. The walk through Federal Hall was very informative, and Dan had deep knowledge about the many displays. We scheduled this tour in the morning before we saw Hamilton that night. Dan separated Hamilton fact from fiction so we were aware what was actual history vs. entertainment. Highly recommend this private tour!
Prize find! Top-notch thrilling experience! Rich history & wonderful narrative by a very engaged guide. Highly recommend for friends & family!
George was great! We got to see all the highlights of Hamilton’s time in NY, with the final stop of his resting place at Trinity Church. We learned so much about NYC during that time. Would definitely recommend this tour if you want to know all about Hamilton.
Kevin Draper of New York Historical Tours provided an incredibly informative and interesting tour (Alexander Hamilton & The Founding Fathers Tour) in the Financial District. Kevin was so engaging and knowledgeable. His narration was just excellent, so much that even someone who isn't a history buff would come away a convert! A great way to see and hear about the incredible history that lies in our presence, do yourself a favor and book a tour with Kevin
Kevin was amazing! I had my kids with me (8, 12, 20). It was windy and cold and he would accommodate my littlest when she would just say “i’m cold” we would do lot of the talking and story telling indoors and went outside to show us the what he was talking about. He helped take family pictures. Had a lot of good historical tidbits that even peeked the interest of my little ones. Super friendly! Will definitely recommend Kevin to everyone!!!
Leo did a great job showing and telling us about the early history of the USA and New York. He had a tremendous background and shared really cool facts that we would not have known otherwise. Highky recommend.
Federal Hall was closed We were shortchanged. Guide provided excellent information but not going to Federal Hall was really dissatisfying
We are glad to hear you had a great experience with your guide and disappointed as well that Federal Hall was not available to enter at the time of your visit. Unfortunately we can not guarantee access inside other venues to which we have no control but do our best to provide as much information and enrichment as possible. We are glad you enjoyed the rest of your tour. Thank you for choosing New York Historical Tours.
