We had a family reunion in New Orleans and did the Walking Tour of the Garden District. Our guide was very knowledgeable, friendly and enthusiastic. If you enjoy architecture, this tour is for you.
We booked Soul of Nola, a recommendation by our hotel in New Orleans. Derek was our guide, and he was delightful. Born and raised in New Orleans, he was an expert on the Garden District along with anything and everything about the city. We learned so much about the history and architecture of the Garden District as well as little unknown discoveries about the district’s surrounding neighborhoods due to Derek’s background. He even gave us some good tips for sight-seeing and restaurants as the tour ended. For those seeking a private tour experience discovering the city with a unique lens, I would highly recommend Soul of Nola. The owner, Cassandra, was extremely responsive and even adds her personal touch by sending a thank you after the tour. This type of customer service is a rarity nowadays and very much appreciated!
An excellent tour. It was beautiful. Our tour guide was excellent! She was very knowledgeable and would definitely go again.
Cassandra was a delightful guide through this amazing area of NOLA. She met us at our hotel in a very comfortable van. On our way to the garden district, she shared great historical and topographic information about the city. It was especially helpful to see the historical maps she showed us. Filled with stories and wonderful observations, we left the garden district with an appreciation of the architecture, inhabitants, and overall history of the area. In the end, rather than returning to our hotel, we were dropped at the Art Museum and Sculpture Garden! Loved Cassandra's flexibility and good restaurant recommendations. I highly recommend Soul of Nola for your next tour!
Derek was EXCELLENT! We were a group of four interested especially in art and culture. We found his depth of knowledge, manner, sense of humor impressive and absolutely charming. We also did the French Quarter private walking tour, and that was equally outstanding. Thank you for the great time!
Tim was an excellent tour guide. He was so in tune with what was going on in the district as well as the historical past and present of what we were looking at. He was one of the best tour guides I have ever had anywhere. I would highly recommend booking him for a wonderful tour of anywhere in the New Orleans area. It is well worth the time and money to have a true historian take you on a walk through the past of such a wonderful, cultural city. Debra Ankiel
