Had a great tour with Gonzalo who was extremely knowledgeable and informative, the group interrupted him quite a bit, me included, and added an extra hour to the tour which he took with good grace and didn't seem to mind, he's an easy going guy 🙏 if you're in Merida take the tour you'll learn so much from it. 5 ⭐👌
Terrific tour with Max! Turns out I was the only person and the one on one experience was nice. I got to ask all the questions! Max gave a terrific cultural and historical walk and talk. The price was good, too. Highly recommend!
I think the trip was very good; the guide MAX did it very well. I think he highlights the important points very well; he concentrated a lot of information but didn't make it heavy, and he is super accessible and very good at using and articulating words.
This was a short and sweet tour hitting some highlights in the historic center. Luisa did a lovely job walking us through the history of Mérida. I’m only giving 4 out of 5 stars because it does seem like we could have covered a few more stops but that’s more on the structure of the tour than the delivery.
Check out on Google Maps museo casa montejo . You can book a free tour there every day at 9, 10, and 5 PM. Why would you pay €16 on Tripadvisor? According to the description, it is the same tour. In general, everything on Tripadvisor in Mexico is twice as expensive as if you drive there on your own by car. Tripadvisor is more worthwhile in other countries (Thailand, Indonesia).

Unsere Führung dauert etwa zwei Stunden und führt durch verschiedene Orte im historischen Zentrum von Mérida. Our tour with Max was amazing! He shared so much history and culture, which really brought the places we visited to life!!
We live in the Southern U.S. and are used to exercising and working in the yard in hot weather. However, we were unprepared for the heat of this tour. Our guide talked a very long time (or at least it felt along time) about the art in the governor's palace. He was very knowledgeable, but it was so stifling, one of the older men in our group had to leave. The churches and other buildings had doors open or some sort of ventilation. But unfortunately we about an hour in this building. There are lots of stairs and uneven walking surfaces. If you go, take a folding fan, a hat (for walking between buildings) and a bottle of water. There are some stores near the square that sell water but you will have to break off from the tour to go find one.
We understand that weather conditions can greatly influence the overall experience, especially during the warmer months. While we always strive to provide an enjoyable and informative tour, unfortunately the climate is beyond our control. Our guides do their best to balance historical context, cultural insights, and the comfort of the group throughout the experience. We also appreciate the practical suggestions you shared, as they may help future travelers prepare for the conditions and make the most of their visit.
Merida has so much wonderful history and it’s great seeing it up close. My wife & I would recommend this to everyone.
