Notre visite guidée à pied se déroulera dans le township de Langa, le plus ancien township du Cap et connu pour sa riche histoire, son atmosphère animée et sa cuisine africaine traditionnelle

Nous visitons le musée Langa Dompas au cœur de Langa qui offre aux visiteurs un hommage poignant aux héros et victimes de l'apartheid. Ce joyau historique est situé au cœur du canton et a été créé pour commémorer son centenaire. Les bureaux autrefois tristement célèbres de l'administration des affaires bantoues témoignent désormais de la résilience de l'esprit humain et constituent un rappel important du passé. Nous visitons également les Langa Old Flats, construits en 1944 pour servir d'auberges non mixtes pour les travailleurs migrants. , aujourd'hui habitée par des familles.Auberges de LangaConstruites pour les hommes à l'époque de l'apartheid, elles abritent désormais de nombreuses familles, dans certains cas trois dans une seule maison.
Notre prochain arrêt sera le centre artistique et culturel Guga S'Thebe dans la commune de Langa, qui propose 1.Formation artistique et culturelle : Le centre propose une formation dans diverses formes d'art, telles que la ferronnerie, la poterie, la danse, les arts et l'artisanat, la danse traditionnelle, la formation de chorale, la musique et la poésie. 2.Théâtre communautaire : Le centre dispose d'un théâtre communautaire où des groupes locaux peuvent présenter des spectacles. Boutique d'art et d'artisanat : Le centre dispose d'une boutique vendant des objets d'art et d'artisanat locaux. Le centre offre des services de comptabilité et de secrétariat aux petits entrepreneurs et aux entreprises locales. Le centre fournit un soutien et des ressources aux entrepreneurs locaux et aux petites entreprises pour démarrer et développer leur entreprise. Le centre vise à lutter contre le chômage dans la communauté en offrant une formation et un soutien aux entrepreneurs et petites entreprises.

Amazing tour. Kazi was a wonderful tour guide with a lot of knowledge. The community was very welcoming, kind and talkative. Great experience.
Namhla has such an entertaining and sincere way of letting tourist see the real South African life. Staying in Green- Sea point or Waterfront you’re in a bubble but you run into people whom are living in the townships everyday. This tour was such an inspiring message. Namhla shared the gritty but also the hopeful aspects of living in a township. She wove the history of SA and the apartheids regime into the affects on modern day life. Do yourself a favor and go on this township tour and step outside the bubble!

Cape Town is a truly stunning city but to understand what moves the city, you have to experience a township tour with someone who is deeply rooted in the township community. Chippa was the perfect guide - knowledgeable, respectful of the community and with a desire to help others understand that a township is not what it appears to be from the outside. He shared the history of townships and brought us into the present with a glimpse into the future. It was safe, eye-opening, educational and truly gives you a newfound perspective. I would higly recommend this to anyone visiting Cape Town - whether you are travelling solo or in a group. A Langa township tour with Chippa will stay with you for a long time.
The trip was fabulous, informative, educational and the community were very generous in sharing their lives with us. It was a privilege to meet people from the community and to learn about their creativity and entrepreneurial ship in creating a better life for themselves , their families and their community.
