Nous commencerons la visite par la célèbre cathédrale de Palma, où nous commencerons notre promenade dans la région, en admirant toute la merveilleuse architecture et l'histoire que cette ville glorieuse a à offrir !
Nous passerons par l'une des structures les plus célèbres de la ville, "Estatua Es Foner" ou "El Hondero" qui se traduit par "The Swinger". Cette belle structure a été donnée par le sculpteur Jaume Mir en 1992. Jaume Mir était l'un des sculpteurs majorquins les plus prestigieux du XXe siècle et son travail et sa technique rigoureuse sont de renommée internationale.
Nous continuerons à découvrir la "vieille ville" de Palma en nous promenant dans ces magnifiques jardins ! "S´hort del Rei" qui se traduit par "Les Jardins des Rois" situés sous le Palais de l'Almudaina. Au 14ème siècle, cette zone avait un accès restreint et regorgeait d'arbres fruitiers, de plantes, de légumes et de fleurs colorées. Le jardin actuel a été rénové dans les années 1960 par l'architecte Gabriel Alomar. Alomar a basé la rénovation de cet espace sur les jardins andalous traditionnels. Aujourd'hui, le jardin compte des cyprès, des fontaines et un grand bassin. Profitez de la grande opportunité de prendre des photos ici et capturez des images qui dureront toute une vie !
Ici, nous aurons l'occasion de marcher le long d'une partie des anciens murs romains construits pour protéger la ville il y a toutes ces années. Vous aurez des vues spectaculaires sur le palais de l'Almudaina d'ici et des vues sur d'autres parties de la ville !
Une fois descendus des murs, nous nous arrêterons pour prendre des photos à l'extérieur de la cathédrale de Palma (La Seu) et découvrirons comment le lieu de culte catholique romain a été construit sur le site d'une ancienne mosquée arabe. Ensuite, dirigez-vous à l'intérieur pour admirer ses vitraux circulaires et ses caractéristiques conçues par Gaudi. L'artiste moderniste coloré et souvent controversé a laissé sa marque sur le site, et son retable accrocheur est considéré comme le point culminant de la cathédrale. Puisque vous participez à notre visite guidée privée, vous n'avez pas besoin d'attendre dans les longues files d'attente qui s'accumulent à la cathédrale (très longues !).
Une fois que nous aurons terminé la visite de la magnifique cathédrale, vous pourrez admirer la beauté du Palais Royal de La Almudaina, qui date du XIVe siècle. C'est la résidence officielle de Leurs Majestés le Roi et la Reine lors de leurs séjours à Majorque. Avec la cathédrale de Palma, ils constituent un point de repère de la capitale des îles Baléares. Un palais qui reflète les styles artistiques qui se sont succédé tout au long de l'histoire de l'île.
Pendant que nous continuons à nous promener dans la magnifique vieille ville de Palma, vous rencontrerez l'Ayuntamiento de Palma, situé sur la Plaza de Cort de Palma. Il a été construit entre 1649 et 1680 par les architectes Pere Bauçá, Miquel Oliver et Bartomeu Calafat. Certains des éléments les plus remarquables de sa façade sont le balcon avec sept grandes fenêtres, le Rellotge d'en Figuera (Horloge Figuera) et le Banc del si no fos (Banque de si vous ne le manquez pas). Le bâtiment lui-même a été déclaré Monument Historique-Artistique appartenant au Trésor Artistique National par décret du 3 juin 1931.
Pendant que vous admirez la vue imprenable sur la vieille ville de Palma et l'architecture historique, gardez un œil sur l'olivier Cort ! Cet arbre unique, connu sous le nom d'Olivera de Cort, a été planté en 1999 à partir de la chaîne de montagnes Tramuntana, comme symbole de paix et d'enracinement à la terre. L'Olivier Cort est situé au milieu de la place, juste en face de la mairie. Malgré le déménagement et son ancienneté, il continue de porter ses fruits chaque année.
Celui-ci est pour les amateurs d'art! Un bâtiment incontournable, de par ses caractéristiques. La décoration stylistique de la façade jusqu'au design intérieur montre une forte influence du modernisme catalan, en particulier de certaines œuvres de Gaudí - profitez de toute sa splendeur et sortez l'appareil photo pour pouvoir chérir ces moments pour toujours !
À ce stade, nous aurons couvert les principaux quartiers de la vieille ville et notre guide pourra vous donner des suggestions d'endroits pour déjeuner et boire un verre, y compris Sa Llotja où se trouvent de nombreux bars à tapas.

A terrible experience. The tour guide was an irresponsible liar. She specified one meeting place after the tour and free time, but the bus arrived at a different location. We arrived at the meeting point indicated on the map 30 minutes before departure time. All of this company’s buses depart from the same location in Palma de Mallorca. For some reason, our bus left from a completely different place. The tour guide had our phone number but did nothing to contact us and warn us about these changes. Then she simply texted, “You weren’t there—sorry.” I regret the time we wasted… Do you think anyone even apologized on behalf of this company? NO. Think twice before buying tours from them. Wonderful “Spanish service” from this company and its guide.

Really good trip to get an insight into the old town of Palma and a really good understanding of the cathedral. We had Luis as our guide and he was very good with explanations, pace and keeping us in the shade where he could. Would really recommend.

arrived in plenty of time , tour was only 1 hour instead of the 1.30 as described. you can learn what we were told on the web. disappointed. on the other hand guide was very nice . though some time hard to understand though it was in English
Thank you for your review. Unfortunately, we have to disagree with several of your statements because they are simply not accurate. The walking tour did not last one hour. It lasted almost the full 90 minutes as advertised. In fact, while the guide was still with your group at 15:08, sharing additional recommendations for restaurants and places to visit in Palma after the official tour had finished, your partner was so tired that he almost fell asleep twice inside the Cathedral. We have records confirming these timings. We also find it surprising that you state there was "nothing you couldn't learn on the web." Our licensed local guides provide historical context, stories, explanations and local recommendations that go far beyond what can be found by reading online. Finally, we would like to point out that before publishing this review you requested a full refund through Viator. After reviewing the case, Viator rejected your request because the tour was delivered as described. We could not find the location to meet. In hindsight in reading reviews, others had the same difficulty. Yet the tour operator has not made it easier despite this issue. Tried communicating with the tour guide via Viator messaging (only option available) Got one message and no response to meeting at another location as the tour was 1.5 hours long and we were messaging 7 minutes into the tour. Viator refuses to refund our money. Will never use them again. Tours by Local going forward. We have always heard directly from the tour guide and had a way to communicate directly with the tour guide.
Thank you for your review, although it does not accurately reflect what happened. On the day of your tour there were 62 participants in total, including your party of four. The other 58 guests found the meeting point, arrived on time and joined the tour without any difficulty. Your group was the only one that did not. If 58 guests successfully locate the meeting point and only one party misses the tour, it is difficult to argue that the problem was the meeting point itself. The meeting point information was updated this year and includes detailed directions, a map, written instructions and contact options. You also had the possibility to contact us before the tour if you had any doubts, which you did not do. Arriving 10-15 minutes early, as clearly requested on the voucher, would have provided plenty of time to resolve any uncertainty. What is also surprising is that your own messages show that you were not entirely clear about the product you had booked. You wrote to us: "Ok. Requesting a refund as we had no way to communicate. And we were under the impression this tour was just for four." This was never advertised as a private tour. It is clearly described as a shared group tour. The timeline also contradicts your account. Your first message arrived at 11:37, after the tour had already started. We replied to you, and at 11:51 you wrote: "We are trying a different direction to see if we find you. Give us a few minutes." This shows that more than 20 minutes after departure you were still looking for the meeting point and were not close to the group. You mention Tours by Locals as an alternative, but omit the fact that comparable private tours there cost much more. They are completely different products. Finally, Viator reviewed all the information and rejected your refund request because the facts were clear: the tour operated normally, the meeting point instructions were provided, and 58 guests plus your own party's four places were accounted for, with only your group failing to arrive at the designated location on time. We understand that missing the tour was frustrating. However, it is unfair to blame the guide, the company or the tour itself for a situation that resulted from your group not reaching the meeting point as instructed. — The Nofrills Excursions Team
