Ronald was an amazing tour guide. The tour is a nice mix of history, culinary experience, and experiencing the local people who make the city what it is. My guide really looked out for me, from the reminders to not take out my phone, crossing the street, and even paying the vendors without me pulling out my wallet. He was very patient, even spending over an hour extra with me at the end of the tour taking me to a place that has art and clothes that I was looking for! He went above and beyond and I'd definitely recommend this tour to others.
Ronald was an excellent guild. Fascinating conversations and I learnt a lot you can’t learn from a book. Excelent tour across town and really gave me a great sense of the place. A city much friendlier once you get in it than the advice and exterior look. Highly recommended.
The views were amazing. We enjoyed and saw the big five, water massaging and the guides were amazing. I really want to have those moments again.
I booked the tour in advance. On the morning of the tour I messaged the tour operator around 8am to advise them I would be meeting at the start point. Arthur messaged back advising the company had lost track of my booking. He apologised and advised the tour could be done for free at 1200. Arthur mentioned that a guide called Sabrina would be my tour guide. I checked the reviews and couldn't see any review mentioning Sabrina. Prior to the tour i advised Arthur I didn't need a refund as I was optimistic the tour and going to as good as the reviews. Sabrina barely spoke during the tour. It wouldn't surprise me if she wasn't a guide as no mention of her name in the revies. She provided very little information about Kampala and the attractions. We didn't see the post office or go inside the temple for reasons I don't know. Sabrina lacked enthusiam and didn't seem interested. I spent nearly all of the time just following Sabrina as we walked around. Each time I pulled out my phone to take photos Sabrina would tell me to be careful of my phone. It was frustrating as it was is important for me to be able to take photos and videos. I sent Arthur a message following the tour to share my feedback. He explained the feedback was useful and thanked me but that was all. Overall, I was extremely disappointed. What a waste of money. I felt really let down and wished I never booked this tour. Tour operator is very disorganised.
Dear Luke, thanks for taking the time to write the review and to provide feedback. We do sincerely apologise for dropping the ball on the booking, and have since started calendarising all bookings, with 72 & 24 hour reminders. I also noted the negative experience that you had with one of our guides, and we have taken steps to re-train and re-assess them. Thanks again.
Ronald made the tour, surprisingly in German, an unforgettable experience. With his good contacts with the locals, I got impressions that would never have been possible on their own.
Andrew, my excellent guide, takes me around Kampala downtown area for a safe, fun filled 3-hour tour. Without him, I would not venture into the chaotic market or some neighborhoods. Through him I also learn a lot about the country’s history.
We booked the Kampala Walking Tour for five of us. Three kids under 14 y.o. and two adults. The communication and response exceeded my expectations. The customer service was superb and the tour with Roland was a great experience. Roland has a great knowledge of history, and be prepared as he will probably also challenge you with specific questions. I liked his attitude towards very fine line questions with regard to historical facts. As we had three young kids with us, it was a big question if they will enjoy the walking program through the city. Roland made it happen. He was able to adjust the program taking our interest into account. He also found a good way to find a common language with the youngest one. I highly recommend you the service. I do not think you will ever regret it. Be prepared as the three hours will be definitely more longer and have cash with you as you will visit the local markets (vegetable+fruit+chlotes).
Andrew is a great guide - He’s knowledgeable about the colonial and contemporary history of Kampala and is a very kind and accommodating guide. Fully worth the money! If you’re going alone, he’ll happily accommodate other things you want to do as well. I felt very safe as a single woman also.
Ronald was an amazing tour guide. The walking tour was a brilliant introduction to Kampala. Highly recommend this tour!
I give the highest score. My tour guide Ronald was super funny and likable, and he expertly led me to the agreed-upon stops. The visit to the mosque was very impressive. From the minaret, you have a superb view over the city. Thanks again for one of the most beautiful days I've had in Uganda so far.
