We walked there because the funicular is being repaired until summer 2026. Many steps but the experience is unique and the view is superb. We reached the top of the tower by the stairs and the view is breathtaking. A mini Eiffel Tower
This private tour with our guide Andrey was our first experience with using a Viator private tour. All four of us agreed that the tour was well worth the time and cost, as the sights we saw and the comments provided by Andrey exposed much more about Budapest than we could have possibly found out on our own. Andrey was extremely accommodating whenever we asked one of our many questions. His ability and willingness to respond to our questions by providing even more detailed information added a tremendous amount to the tour's experience.
Jac was very informative and well prepared. He answered all our questions and enabled us to plan our further stay. We visited a few hidden surprises. There was even an opportunity to eat a typically Czech meal.
Our guide was very accommodating and knowledgeable. We learned a lot. Very aware of taking breaks to make it an easy walk.
We were lucky enough to have Hanza as a tour guide for just the two of us, and it was fantastic. Hanza asked about our interests and changed the tour a bit to fit our needs and wants. Seven hours was a LONG tour, but if you have the stamina, it was completely worth it and I would do it again in a second. I never knew about the controversial artist David Cerny and it was so cool to be pointed out his sculptures. Hanza's English was perfect and he explained the long history of Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic thoroughly. We stopped at a wonderful place for lunch. This enriched our trip to Prague so much! Thank you Hanza!
My family of 4 had an awesome day with Honza/Jack all to ourselves on the Ultimate Prague Hike. He was full of energy and enthusiasm, and had a very detailed plan for how he wanted to present the city to us. As teachers we could tell he had planned well. We learned a lot and no one was bored or left behind. He barely stopped to eat during lunch, and had discussions ready for that time. Thanks for a great day.
We went on the Ultimate Tour with Honza. He was wonderful and so well informed about the rich Czech history. Though a long tour, Honza paced it well and always had some interesting information to share. Explore Prague is lucky to have such an exemplary tour guide on their team. Thank you, Honza, for letting us dip our toe in the plight of the Czechs!
We actually did the 7- hour Ultimate Prague Hike with Honza. (There wasn’t an option in TripAdvisor to leave a review for our specific tour so I used this one instead.) The day was fabulous thanks to Honza. His knowledge of Czech history from 500AD to today is simply astounding. We learned so much during our time with him. He gladly answered all our questions. He has a pleasing demeanor and is a joy to be with. If you like to walk and want to learn about Prague and the Czech Republic, this is the tour for you. We highly recommend it.
I deviated from my tour group to spend a full day and explore Prague by walking and hiking through the city. Honza (aka Jack) was on time, professional and knowledgeable about the historical, architectural, and political aspects of Prague. He made me understand Prague's rich culture, history, and current status from a global perspective. The 7-hour hike gave me the opportunity to check off the spots that I would love to see that I think will not be possible managing on my own. Honza even recommended an excellent dish during lunch and I am glad I tried it! Based on my experience with Honza and Explore Prague, I will surely recommend my family and friends to give one or more of your tour offerings a try. Thank you Honza and Mike!
My girlfriend and I were the only two registered for the Ultimate Prague full day tour so we had the full attention of our guide Michal. It quickly became evident that he has a passion for his job as his enthusiasm and knowledge for sharing Prague's history, past and present, made for a special first day/first time for us to the city where he grew up and resides. The seven hour plus tour gave us a full immersion into what makes Prague such a great place to experience. From the beautiful architecture, distinctively unique districts, to the people, local food, beer, and incredible panoramic views it was a day we will never forget. We kept up a steady pace but never felt rushed and the lunch break at the Monastery restaurant/brewery was a well timed and satisfying stop. It should be known if you are interested in this full day tour you need to be in decent physical shape and by all means have a comfortable pair of walking shoes. We put in over 20,000 steps and we were so elated see this marvelous city from end to end and to have the day with Michal....guide supreme!
