Ici, nous verrons la cathédrale d'Helsinki, l'ancien Sénat, l'Université d'Helsinki, la Bibliothèque nationale et la statue d'Alexandre II. Sur la place du Sénat, vous découvrirez le passé d'Helsinki, comment la ville s'est-elle développée d'une petite ville de pêcheurs à une capitale animée de la Finlande ?
Le principal site d'Helsinki, la puissante cathédrale d'Helsinki, inaugurée en 1852. Rejoignez cette visite et vous apprendrez des anecdotes sur ce célèbre bâtiment. L'architecte de la cathédrale d'Helsinki détestait réellement Helsinki, qu'est-ce que c'est que ça ? Quelle est la principale religion de la Finlande ? Quand les Finlandais se rassemblent-ils pour pique-niquer dans l'escalier devant la cathédrale ?
La Banque de Finlande, un bâtiment de 1883 juste derrière la cathédrale d'Helsinki. Ici, vous rencontrerez la statue J.V Snellman, un poète et philosophe du XIXe siècle qui a fortement influencé le mouvement nationaliste de la Finlande pré-indépendante. Vous apprendrez également pourquoi y a-t-il de gros impacts de balles dans la statue de Snellman ?
La Maison du domaine est un magnifique bâtiment néo-renaissance, où les différents domaines de la Finlande du XIXe siècle se sont réunis pour discuter de politique. Lors de cet arrêt, vous découvrirez le système politique finlandais.
La plus grande cathédrale orthodoxe du nord-ouest de l'Europe. Pourquoi est-il situé dans un pays luthérien ?
Cet arrêt est dédié à parler de SAUNA. Le passe-temps préféré des Finlandais, et cette chose que tous les Finlandais aiment. Vous apprendrez l'importance des saunas dans notre vie quotidienne et vous apprendrez également quelle est l'étiquette du sauna.
La célèbre place du marché d'Helsinki. Aimé parmi les touristes et les habitants. Nous traverserons le marché et parlerons de la gastronomie finlandaise. Sur la place du marché, vous verrez également le palais présidentiel et l'hôtel de ville d'Helsinki.
Parc pittoresque de style parisien au cœur d'Helsinki. Ici, vous rencontrerez la statue que les mouettes aiment le plus.
Gare centrale d'Helsinki de 1919, par un célèbre architecte finlandais, Eliel Saarinen. Nous passerons par là et commenterons le vaste et incroyable réseau ferroviaire de la Finlande. Sur la place du chemin de fer, vous verrez également notre Galerie nationale, l'Ateneum et le Théâtre national de Finlande.
La dernière (et la meilleure) étape de la tournée. La bibliothèque centrale d'Oodi est considérée comme l'une des meilleures bibliothèques publiques du monde et, pour moi personnellement, je la considère comme mon deuxième salon. Avez-vous déjà vu une bibliothèque avec des studios d'enregistrement, des imprimantes 3D, un restaurant pour le déjeuner, des jeux de société et des machines à scier ? Sans oublier les livres évidemment. Pour terminer la visite, vous bénéficierez d'une visite approfondie de la bibliothèque et je vous promets que vous serez émerveillé par cette bibliothèque.

I had a great time exploring Helsinki with Jonna and other guests. If you want a tour in a small grop with time to ask questions and have a conversation with your guide, then this is a right choice for you.

Jonna was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. She was friendly, a great storyteller of history, and made sure we were all comfortable (letting us pick sun or shade for several stops and ensuring we took routes that have fewer stairs as my step-dad has a hard time with them). She made sure to understand what we wanted out of the tour up front so she could deliver that (and more). We got to see and better understand several really interesting places and how the Finnish country has changed over time. Our whole group of 6 thought she did a fantastic job.

We were originally booked to tour with Jonna but they were unwell so they offered to move us to the same tour with a different guide Emek, this was handled really smoothly without any issues, The actual tour was fantastic, Emek was really knowledgeable and showed us things that we wouldn't have seen had we just toured on our own, The library being one of the highlights, We learnt about the history and culture of Finland and gained an insight into life there, it was a great introduction to the city and Emek was able to suggest other things to do during our stay, Being part of a small group worked well as it was a nice to meet other travellers, the tour was not rushed and everyone got chance to ask questions and we even had time for coffee and cake. I would definitely recommend this tour !

It was a very educational and exciting tour through downtown Helsinki. Jonna is a great guide. She quickly understood how to adapt to what is interesting and important for us. Thus, we learned a lot about the history, but especially about today's life in Finland and Helsinki. Two and a half hours is a perfect timeframe for the tour, and Jonna really made good use of the time. Finally, there were some tips for restaurants and other attractions in Helsinki. A perfect tour! Highly recommended.
