We had a wonderful experience on this tour! I originally thought we’d be part of a group, but it ended up being a private tour for just my daughter and me, which made it feel even more special. Our guide, Rene, picked us up right on time and was warm, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable throughout the evening. We started with the Tower of the Americas, where we enjoyed spectacular views of San Antonio, followed by a driving tour of important landmarks and fascinating local history. Dinner at Biga on the Banks along the River Walk was absolutely delicious. We also visited the historic Pearl and the beautiful Hotel Emma, both rich with character and history. Stops at the The Alamo and the historic Emily Morgan Hotel—known as one of San Antonio’s most haunted spots—made the tour even more memorable. We finished the evening with a relaxing boat ride along the San Antonio River Walk. A truly delightful experience from beginning to end. Highly recommend!”
What a special evening, especially getting that private experience with your daughter. From the Tower views to dinner at Biga and the River Walk cruise, it sounds like the perfect mix of history, atmosphere, and great food.
Knowledge tour guide. Excellent dinner. Fun Riverwalk cruise. Breathtaking views from the tower. Nice variety of activities.
What a well-rounded experience with so many great highlights! 🌆 From the knowledgeable guide to the delicious dinner, fun Riverwalk cruise, and those breathtaking tower views, it sounds like a fantastic mix. Thanks for sharing!
We had a great tour that took us to the tower of the Americas (15min appr.), Paesano's on the riverwalk (around an hour and half), a very short walk on the riverwalk with a boat tour on the river (30 min), and a short tour of downtown. I feel that the construction downtown made our tour a bit shorter than normal. Rene, our driver, did a great job and we felt safe the entire time. He was very informative as well. Overall it was a nice tour and we were in a very nice Mercedes van that was comfortable. Now the bad, the tour that we booked on viator was not the same that was given. This was explained as viator had changed the tour but not updated the app info accordingly. On the original description, we were to see the Alamo and Pearl district as well as the aforementioned sights, we did not. This was not the drivers fault, it was viators. Also, the time listed as pick up was incorrect and the driver was there to pick us up 45 min early. Again, viators fault. We did have issues at the restaurant but they were quickly dealt with and the meal and experience was great! It was valentines day and they only had a special menu you could order off of and they were packed. Overall, the tour was great. We were picked up at our hotel and dropped off after. Rene was very professional and kept us safe. We would recommend this tour, but, verify with the tour operator all the details beforehand!
We’re really pleased to hear that Rene made you feel safe, informed, and comfortable throughout the day. At the same time, we sincerely apologize for the confusion regarding the itinerary and pickup time.We truly appreciate your understanding that this was not Rene’s fault, and we’re glad the restaurant issue was resolved quickly despite the busy Valentine’s Day setting. Thank you as well for the helpful advice to future guests to confirm details directly
The tour operator called us to say he would be picking us up early because we needed to get to Tower of America before our 7:15 reservation for dinner. Good thing because we would of never made it. The tour guide seemed very rushed and we did not get the hour promised at the tower. We could barely here his conversation as he drove us through the City. After dinner we got picked up and someone inquired about The Pearl....He said "Oh yeah, I guess we can stop there." It was included as part of the experience. We were there maybe 15 mins...then left to go to the River Walk Boat Tour. We got there just before 9:30 and they were closed due to weather. Typically they close at 10 but we were never informed that they were shutting early. We ended up having to get the tickets and go the next day.
We’re truly sorry for the frustration and disappointment you experienced during your tour. We understand how upsetting it is when the day feels rushed and key parts of the experience don’t unfold as promised. We’re glad you were able to use the boat tickets the following day, but we know that doesn’t fully make up for the disruption to your original plans. If you haven’t already, please feel free to reach out to us directly or through your booking platform so our team can review your experience further and see how we can help.
Alfred was the best tour guide! The itinerary covered the must see attractions and a fabulous dinner at Biga. Highly recommend!
So glad to hear this. It’s great that Alfred made the tour special and that the itinerary hit all the must-see spots, with dinner at Biga as a highlight. Thanks for the recommendation 🍽️
This tour was a great value, lots of fun, and our guide Autumn was just amazing! She is extremely knowledgeable about San Antonio and patiently answered our endless historical questions. I will just say that our tour not include everything listed in the description such as the river cruise up to the Pearl area (boat ride was included but did not go to this area) or dinner at Chart House at the top of Tower of the Americas (dinner was included but was provided inside Boudro's Bistro instead). So just be aware that you you may or may not get what is described on the agenda. Otherwise, highly recommended!
A wonderful tour of San Antonio ! Alfred our tour guide was knowledgeable and very friendly. Highly recommend!
Viator apparently does talk to their on-site tour operators. We booked this tours months on advance. The day before they sent an email saying they would be "unable to provide the Tower and Dinner but would be happy to provide the rest of the tour at a "unspecified" reduction in price. When I called and FINALLY reached a real person they didn't know WHY the dinner was cancelled but said the FULL TOUR, including dinner, was available the following night so she cancelled the first booking and rebooked the same tour for the next night. We were outside our hotel 15 minutes before pickup time and a few minutes AFTER the scheduled time a man showed up from the local tour company but he did NOT have our names and he said that they were giving the same river cruise, city drive and tour tour BUT without dinner. I kept telling him our included dinner. He finally said I don't think dinner is available as they are renovating the tower restaurant. He gave us a ride to the tower with is group and sure enough the restaurant IS CLOSED. But for some reason Viator didn't know this as was still selling the tour with dinner! We are still awaiting our refunds for the TWO non existing tour tours WITH dinner!
Viator apparently doesn't communicate well with their tour agents. We were contacted the day before the tour and told for "tech reasons" whatever that means ( we think it meant they didn't sell enough tickets) they would be unable to provide the dinner on the Tower of America and wanted to know if we wanted to take the tour less the dinner for an unknown and unspecified price reduction. The next morning I called and they said they could take us the next day. So they cancelled the first booking and rebooked us for the day later. We stood outside the designated pickup hotel for 30 minutes (15 before and after the quoted time). A van from the tour company showed up looking for people with another last name but did not have us on his list. I showed him a picture of the confirmation and he confirmed that his was the company contracted but 1) He did not have our name and 2) they were NOT doing dinners and out confirmation said "with dinner". He made a call but was still unable to determine what group we were supposed to be with. About 40 minutes after the scheduled pickup time we made our way to the tower and found out that the revolving restaurant is closed for several weeks of renovation but the non revolving bar located one floor above the restaurant was open and serving dinner so we did that and walked back to our hotel afterwards. Meantime Viator is STILL advertising the tower with dinner in the revolving restaurant! Which is NOT going to be available for several weeks! This is getting to be a frequent event with Viator. We show up but the tour guide doesn't. Viator changes tour agents but forgets to notify IT'S customers. Viator makes it even more difficult and frustrating by NOT giving you contact information like a phone or email for THEM or the local tour company agent.
This was a great activity for our girls trip! We watched the sun set and had a great dinner as we revolved around the tower looking over San Antonio. The food was great, view was awesome and the price was right.
