Amazing tour! Thanks Mady! We did almost three hours through stone town. We got an overview of the history, the culture, etc. We saw all of the sights and explored the small streets.
Thanks maria
Mady is a phenomenal tour guide who is extremely knowledgeable and doesn’t rush you through the city. He takes his time and answers all questions you may have about anything in Stone Town. He gives you the accurate prices from the vendors before you visit them. You’re missing out if you don’t book a tour with Mady. Avoid the guys who don’t give the true facts and book with him.
Thank you Tripp
Mady was BEYOND fabulous in every sense of the word- we arrived on a delayed flight and with only a half hour’s notice he had us on a private Dhow sunset cruise (with a PLATTER of fresh fruits and fresh coconuts (water and then meat). Met up with us again the next morning for an AMAZINGLY informative walking tour of Stone Town, completely directing the tour based on our interests. Showed us the best spice vendor in town, the only textile vendor who still uses a loom, the best local restaurant, provided many suggestions for activities, food, and entertainment, and of course showed us the churches, mosques, slave Museum, and a devout and thorough history of Stone Town from its origins with Natives, colonizations and all the way up to today. After our walking tour he even set us up with a great snorkeling and beach trip to finish out our day, securing all our gear for fair prices. Mady’s understanding and communication of the English language is second only to his patience and answering all 10,000 questions we had for him. It was truly a wonderful experience getting to know Stone Town through Mady and I will recommend him to everyone I meet.
Thank you Grace for being part of our community.
Mady gave us the best and most educational tour of Stone Town! It was a walking tour that went way beyond our expectations. He’s incredibly knowledgeable about the history and culture of Zanzibar, Stone Town, and Tanzania — basically the entire African continent as a whole. You can tell he truly loves what he does and takes pride in sharing his country’s rich heritage. We learned so much more than we ever would have on our own. Having someone who knows the backstreets and local spots made all the difference. We visited the spice market and the night food market, learned about local foods and customs, and shopped at a community center that supports local women and artisans. We had an amazing time and highly recommend Mady to anyone looking for an authentic, fun, and enriching experience in Zanzibar!
Thank you Ali for being my part of experience.
A friend of mine gave me Hamad informations when I asked her « what should I do when in Stone Town? » and I’m so great full to have spent the day exploring Stone Town, the farm spice and cooking some traditional Zanzibari dishes. We started the day, on foot, strolling in town and passing through historical monuments. Hamad knows his city’s story by heart and really talk passionately about is home. After a quick stop at the Freddie Mercury museum and the market (fish and beef), to only named those two places, we went to the farm spice (by car). One hour stroll through all the spices that make Zanzibar so special. Hamad knows everything and always finds way to make it fun to guess the spices. We finished the day with a cooking class with an intermission of tasting some fruits. Hamad was explaining everything to me and was also making good memories with my phone. I had the best time with Hamad and cannot recommend you enough to book one or three activities with him !!!
Thoroughly appreciate stay healthy
Mady tells a lot about the old city Stone Town and brings you to the best places. Would definitely recommend if you want to bring a visit to Stone Town!
I appreciate for being part of my experience. Stay blessed
The tour guide Mady was amazing. His knowledge on our surroundings was so informative and detailed. He personalised our tour by asking us what we wanted to do / eat and made sure we went to the best place to facilitate our wishes. We got to see the best that Zanzibar has to offer and would happily come and do it all over again in the same way.
Asante sana Kelly. Stay safe and healthy.
I highly recommend Mady’s walking tour of Stone Town! I really appreciated his time and learning about all of the history of Stone Town and Zanzibar. He was very kind and took his time sharing all of the history. It was a very memorable tour and a highlight of my stay in Zanzibar. Thank you so much Mady!
Thank you Tara for your recommendation. Stay healthy
A very interesting afternoon with a very knowledgeable young man. He showed me the beautiful side of Stonetown, told me the story, explained the architecture, but also the terrible side of slavery. A very pleasant young man who could answer all my questions. Even the shops he showed me were not 0-8-15 tourist shops, but small shops with local crafts. A really great afternoon!
Thank you for the good feedback. Stay healthy and happy.
We had a very interesting tour through stone town with many historical facts about the past and the evolution of Zanzibar. The spice tour in the morning has also been very interesting and we loved that Mady (local guide) also showed us a nearby nursery & primary school. He can arrange tours up to your wishes which is very nice as you might not want to visit every tourist place and have other interests. At the end he also assisted on the local market negotiating with locals. Asante sana Mady.
Thank you Lukas
