An excellent and in depth exploration of the art of the Renaissance. Historical anecdotes combined with facts and historical data made this a delightful tour. So much more to see than just the Michelangelo pieces, which of course were fabulous. Marcello proved to be a great guide. Was easy to walk into a crowded square to meet our guide - they found us!

Standing before this colossal masterpiece, I was struck by its intricate details and sheer presence—photos simply don’t do it justice. The museum itself is compact, which makes it easy to navigate, yet it houses an impressive collection of Renaissance art, including other works by Michelangelo and a fascinating array of musical instruments. The guided tour I joined was excellent. Our guide was knowledgeable, weaving historical context with engaging stories that brought the art to life. However, the crowds can be overwhelming, especially around David, so I recommend booking an early morning slot or a skip-the-line ticket to avoid the rush. The no-photography rule was strictly enforced, which I appreciated as it kept the focus on the art itself. My only critique would be the limited seating areas for resting, as the visit can be tiring if you linger. Overall, the Galleria dell'Accademia is a must-visit for anyone in Florence. It’s a compact yet profound dive into Renaissance genius, and I left feeling inspired. Highly recommend!
