Promenez-vous dans la vieille ville de Bilbao pour découvrir son histoire séculaire et ses lieux les plus emblématiques. Nous parcourrons les Sept Rues en admirant les palais, les vieilles églises, le marché et l'ambiance incomparable de ses rues animées.
Visite de l'emblématique « Basilique de Begoña », où se trouve la « amatxu » des Bascons. Un lieu chargé d'histoire, de pèlerinages et de moments de fête.
L'Alhondiga est un ancien entrepôt de vin transformé en un centre multiculturel moderne et spectaculaire. Dès que l'on pénètre à l'intérieur, on est saisi par un sentiment d'incrédulité et d'émerveillement face à la merveille architecturale qui s'y trouve. Un endroit merveilleux !
Nous traverserons cette magnifique place, qui constitue le cœur de la ville de Bilbao, en passant par une partie de la Gran Vía, véritable artère principale de la ville.
En parcourant la Ria del Nervión, nous pourrons admirer les plus belles vues extérieures de ce célèbre musée. Une architecture impressionnante caractérise ce magnifique bâtiment de titane, de pierre et de verre. Frank Gehry a été le véritable artisan de la rénovation de Bilbao.
Après avoir flâné le long de l'estuaire et traversé le pont de Calatrava, nous nous dirigeons vers le funiculaire de l'Artxanda, qui nous emmène en quelques minutes au belvédère de l'Artxanda. De cet endroit, on peut admirer Bilbao dans toute sa splendeur.

Our guide José, a native of Bilbao, was able to convey the essence of his town through his knowledge, experiences, and his journey as a guide. Despite the rain, we were able to explore the entire city, its streets and iconic monuments, its history, and the warmth of its people. 100% recommended!

It was boiling hot during our tour in Bilbao, but we forged ahead as Jose showed us all of Bilbao and gave us a very thorough and thoughtful introduction to the city. He recommended a wonderful restaurant which we enjoyed very much. Would very much recommend. Thanks Jose for sharing with us the city we have come to love!

What an amazing day we had exploring the fantastic city of Bilbao with our guide Jose. We covered an impressive 14km in this relaxed yet comprehensive walk that included the funicular and secret lift experience to views of and from the upper eschelons of Bilbao. We stopped for a delicious lunch in Casco Viajo at a restaurante organised by Jose. It was a treat to have such a passionate and informed local orientate us to this intriguing, bilingual city, the history, culture and amazing sights. When planning this trip, never did I imagine we would be walking down the streets of the Gran Via singing songs of the Pogues with our guide (Jose is an avid fan as are we). We also appreciated the insights provided by Jose on our upcoming trip to Picos de Europa. Eskerrik asko Jose!!!

When we arrived in Bilbao we were warmly greeted by Jose. He took us everywhere and not just to the tourist sections but to other beautiful neighborhoods. Jose was absolutely wonderful...extremely patient, thoroughly explained all the highlights of this charming city. Jose made our visit to Bilbao incredible. Jose was an outstanding guide. He showed us all the great sites plus he was helpful in navigating a very large soccer crowd on this day. You could not ask for a nicer and more accommodating guide. My wife has mobility challenges and our guide was very mindful of them.

We really enjoyed our private guided walking tour with Jose. He really knows the city of Bilbao and it's history. He took us to an authentic Basque restaurant where we tried food from the region. I was able to take lots of pictures without feeling rushed. We were very fortunate that we had a sunny warm day in December, could not have planned the day any better.
