Dina was a wonderful guide. Knowledgable and flexible….and enjoyable to spend time with as well.
Our private tour of the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization was easily one of the standout experiences of our entire trip. From the moment we arrived, it was clear we were in exceptional hands. Our guide, Dina Milad, was nothing short of extraordinary. Her depth of knowledge was immediately evident, but what truly set her apart was her ability to transform history into a living, breathing story. She didn’t just guide us through the museum—she brought ancient Egypt to life. Every exhibit carried meaning, every artifact had context, and every transition between eras felt seamless. Her storytelling was engaging, thoughtful, and perfectly paced, making even the most complex historical details accessible and memorable. The Royal Mummies Hall, in particular, was presented with a level of reverence and insight that made it a deeply moving experience. What made the tour even more special was Dina’s flexibility and genuine attentiveness. She was incredibly accommodating, happy to expand on topics that sparked our interest and tailor the experience in real time. It felt less like a tour and more like a personalized exploration guided by someone who truly loves what she does. Equally deserving of recognition was our driver, Mohammad. Navigating Cairo is no small task, but Mohammad handled it with calm professionalism and impressive skill. Every transition was smooth, timely, and stress-free, allowing us to fully relax and focus on the experience. His courtesy and quiet confidence added an extra layer of comfort to the day. In every sense, this tour exceeded expectations. Between Dina’s masterful storytelling and Mohammad’s flawless driving, it was a perfectly orchestrated experience. If you’re considering a visit to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, a private tour like this is absolutely the way to do it.
Had the best private guided tour to the National Egyptian Civilization Museum with Hoda. She was a wealth of knowledge, sharing details of Egyptian history and culture. She was also incredibly generous with her time, offering to take us to a local restaurant and shopping. The museum was packed with amazing artifacts and mummies all with a unique history, don’t skip this if traveling to Cairo!
We had a great time at the museum. So much history. So much to see and learn. Our history Hoda was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions gent very safe. Definitely would recommend.
Our guide was good and she really knew perfect English. However, I found the tour just too expensive for what it is, because the tour price was supplemented by the tickets with 550EGP each. You will be picked up from the hotel and driven to the museum, as the museum is relatively small the tour is also over quite quickly.
It is a small but very worth seeing museum. It shows the development from ancient Egyptians to Muslim times. A special experience are the sarcophagi and mummies in the basement. We had a very well informed guide with Dina and so were able to take a lot from the visit. We can highly recommend the tour (especially with Dina).
Mariam was the perfect guide for our excellent visit to the Civilization Museum. We learned so much and saw snapshots of 5500 years of Egyptian history all in one place, not forgetting the mummies… It was incredible to be in the presence of great Egyptians from the past. Mariam was very well informed and professional. She added so much to our visit. Thank you Mariam.
Dina was a fantastic guide! While each display of artifacts had info cards, it was so great to have Dina there providing greater context and background.
Our private guided tour with Dina was fantastic. When our Viking Nile river cruise got canceled, we scrambled to find other ways to visit Cairo and the surrounding areas and we lucked out finding this organization. Not only was Dina a wealth of information, she personalized the tour for us to make sure we saw and did the things that we wanted to do. I cannot recommend this travel company enough. Don’t hesitate to book them!
In addition to a visit to GEM, this museum is highly recommended during a visit to Cairo. It is simply delightful. The museum's disply of 22 Royal mummies are simply amazing. The ground-floor display is well organized to enrich our understandings of how people lived. For example, you see an ancient boardgame, Senet, from 3,100 BC. You see the importance of cosmetics (especially eye liners), mirrors, and wigs from ancient times.
