Wonderful experience. Irina was amazing with great insights and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend this tour for family and or friends.
It was a wonderful experience and our tour guide, Irina, was absolutely one of the best. She spent a little extra time with us because we ended up running slightly late and told us so many wonderful and historic things that we didn't know before. The church is beautiful and the museum is amazing as well.
The wealth of knowledge the tour guide holds enriches the experience tremendously. Better than seeing on your own
Our guide, Irina, was outstanding. She covered the history of the Duomo and the church of St. Rapparata. She pointed many of the details in the paintings. frescos, floors, and construction we might have otherwise missed. We will recommend this tour to our friends.
We went on three tours with Irina and they were all excellent. The tour to the Duomo took us through the construction and various architectural aspects of the church. She uses her iPad to help illustrate some of the more difficult to visualise parts. This could be very dry, but Irina makes it entertaining throughout. We visited the Baptistry and the splendid museum. Irina’s commentary bringing all of it into focus. The other major benefit of booking with Irina is that she pre-books all the tickets and makes sure they’re available for you at the times you want and you never have to queue. To be highly recommended.
Irina was excellent! She was very informative, and answered all of our questions. Thank you so much!
Irina made the meet up process incredibly easy. The tour was wonderful. She was so warm, interesting, and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this tour.
Irina was above and beyond one of the best guides we had this week. So knowledgeable - great communication before and after the tour. A private tour with early entry was such a great treat and she made it even better.
Dear Kami, Thank you so much for your kind words — it truly means a lot to me. It was such a pleasure spending the morning together and exploring the Duomo Complex with you. I’m so happy you enjoyed the early entry experience; having those quiet moments before the crowds arrive always makes the visit feel even more special. Thank you as well for your wonderful conversation and curiosity — that’s what makes guiding such a joy for me. I hope Florence left you with beautiful memories, and I would love to see you back here someday for more discoveries. Warmest wishes from Florence, Irina
I was fortunate to take two tours with Irina. My first was of the Accademia—I posted a review of that tour and refer you to the very positive comments in that review. In this review I want to comment on what made her such a joy to tour with: her wonderful way of conversing and also communicating a great deal of useful information, which “sticks” because of her style. I have worked with other guides who convey many facts but leave me ot really retaining what they said; the opposite is true of Irina. She is among the very best “teachers” I have encountered in a long career as a professor. I couldn’t recommend her more highly.
Dear Bert, Thank you from the bottom of my heart for these words. They truly moved me. Guiding you—twice—was not only a professional joy, but a personal one as well. From the very beginning, our conversations felt natural, curious, and enriching, and that is something I deeply cherish as a guide and as a person. Coming from someone with your background and long career as a professor, your words about my way of teaching and communicating mean more to me than I can easily express. Helping history come alive and stay with people is exactly why I love what I do, and knowing that it resonated with you in this way is incredibly rewarding. Most of all, I’m grateful that our time together went beyond a tour and turned into a genuine connection. Florence has a magical way of bringing the right people together, and I feel very lucky to now call you a friend. I truly hope our paths cross again—here or wherever our curiosity leads us next. Thank you again for your generosity, your insight, and your warmth. 💛 — Irina
I cannot imagine touring the Duomo without our guide Irina. To say she was spectacular is an understatement. My wife and I have been on many tours throughout Europe and they're usually miserable -- a couple dozen people, you can hardly hear the guide, you certainly don't get the chance to ask the guide many questions. Honestly, it's a bit of a waste. Irina's tour was the exact opposite. My wife and I booked a private tour with her, and it was just the three of us. Her English was impeccable, and she navigated the site like a true insider. We saw things we would have missed had we tried it alone. She was patient and unbelievably knowledgeable, spending as much or as little time as we wanted at a particular exhibit. I'm not exaggerating when I say she made the trip an unforgettable experience. Should we ever return to Florence, we certainly will book a tour with Irina again. Thank you so much!
Dear David, thank you so much for your amazing words! Reading your review truly made my day. I’m so happy to hear that you and your wife enjoyed our time together at the Duomo. It was such a pleasure to share its stories and details with you — and even more special to explore it at your own pace, just the three of us. I loved your curiosity and the thoughtful questions you asked along the way. It’s guests like you who make what I do so rewarding! I’m thrilled to know the tour became one of the highlights of your trip. If you ever find yourselves back in Florence, I’d be overjoyed to show you even more of this beautiful city — there’s always another hidden gem waiting to be discovered. With warmest wishes and a big thank you, Irina 🌸
