Eugenio Gentile was our driver and he was great! Super knowledgeable and friendly throughout the day. We actually did the mount Vesuvius and Pompeii combined day (wasn’t an option when selecting), and this was super fun! He also saved us from potential disaster: we were getting picked up/dropped off from Sorrento, and there were protests blocking the roads, that Eugenio learned about the day before. When discovering this, Eugenio contacted his boss to get us boat tickets from Sorrento to a dock in Naples. This boat ride was only 45 minutes to save us from ~3h of traffic. This proactive problem solving separates good from great business. I understand that this service is expensive, but they deal with all the tickets, guides, driving, and most importantly issues that you might run into. This potentially horrific situation ended in an amazing day and no stress when touring around. Also, I should mention that we were picked up by Giovanni from the airport without issue! He was super nice as well, and was very pleasant when we were tired and on edge from traveling for the last ~15hrs. He even had waters in the van!! Overall, I couldn’t recommend Eugenio, Giovanni, and this company highly enough.
We needed to get from Napoli to Positano and rather than struggle with bags and buses, we contacted Private Driver Naples. Mario was fantastic and tailored a full day tour on the way including a private tour of Pompeii, local wine tasting and lunch. Our driver, Giovanni, was careful and courteous and full of passion for his region and his job. Giovanna was our guide in Pompeii. Full of information, so lovely and patient she really brought everything to life! The wine tasting and lunch were well chosen, and overall we fitted in so much in the day that it we felt it was excellent value. I thoroughly recommend Private Driver Naples and Visit Amalfi Coast.

We booked this tour for the morning of our cruise stop in Napoli. We were lucky enough to have Mario as our guide and driver, pulling double-duty. The van was brand new and very nice. Mario was gracious in waiting when our ship arrival was later than initially planned and went over the top to communicate about where to find him when we got out of the terminal. The communication was top notch and much appreciated. Beyond that, he was extremely knowledgeable, but also very easy to follow. It was chock full of information, but never overly academic. Mario is passionate about the subject and it shows. Pompeii is much larger than we realized, so it would have been overwhelming without an expert to guide us. If we ever make it back to Napoli, we will be sure to use Mario for another tour.

This was a private, half-day guided tour of Pompeii which included a private car from our hotel in Naples. I cannot praise this experience highly enough! From start to finish, we spent a wonderful afternoon touring Pompeii with hassle-free travel. Our very courteous and professional driver picked us up at our hotel right on time and delivered us to the entrance of the site where we were met by our outstanding guide, Mario. No waiting in line, just straight into the tour. Mario was extremely knowledgeable and poised, and guided us through the site seamlessly. He had personal experience working with archaeologists at Pompeii during university, and his insight and perspective were priceless. You could easily spend days at Pompeii and never see it all, but our afternoon was focused and targeted to particularly interesting locations. The ability to ask questions and interact with our guide was what made this tour so perfect. Had we done an audio tour or a large group tour, or attempted to explore on our own, we would never have had the unique understanding and appreciation that we gained from this tour. It is clear Mario loves his work, and he excels at it. After the tour, our driver was waiting to seamlessly return us to our hotel. So glad we did this, and many thanks to the great driver and our guide. We followed this up with a visit to the National Archaeological Museum in Naples on our own the next day, which had amazing artifacts from both Pompeii and Herculaneum, truly adding to the overall experience. Thanks to the experience, professionalism and involvement of our guide Mario we had the pleasure of immersing ourselves in the daily life of ancient Pompeii, imagining the voices and activities of the inhabitants of that time. Our day in Pompeii was just perfect, and much of the credit goes to Mario. From the beginning everything was impeccably organized. We didn't have to worry about anything: the team handled everything, including skip-the-line tickets, allowing us to get in right away and make the most of the time available. The transfer was comfortable and relaxing in a brand new Mercedes, with air conditioning. Diego, our driver, was exceptional: professional, punctual and always smiling. But the real protagonist of the day was Mario. An extraordinary guide, with an extraordinary passion. He didn't just show us Pompeii, but he really made us understand what we were looking at. Thanks to his preparation and his ability to tell, the site came to life before our eyes. He also talked about the new excavations and the most recent archaeological studies, explaining how Pompeii is still the object of continuous discoveries. This made the experience even more interesting and unlike any other visit made in the past. The tour was engaging from start to finish, never boring and perfectly balanced. We cannot recommend Mario enough. He is fabulous and a third generation guide in the Naples/Amalfi Coast area. We had 5 people (me, husband, brother, sister-in-law and adult niece) for a tour of Pompeii and Herculaneum, ending with lunch at a winery on Mt. Vesuvius! Mario picked us up in Salerno at the hotel and was so personable and knowledgeable from the first moment. He asked at the start if their was anything specific we wanted to get out of the day, so he could tailor our tour. We did not have any specifics, but Mario was able to show us so many amazing sites and places, even though we were there in February (a very slow season). We joined up with Marcello once in Pompeii and you could tell both of them knew so much about these ancient cultures and just loved sharing their knowledge with everyone. We had an amazing lunch at the winery. We highly recommend that you book a tour with Mario for any tour. We loved the Pompeii/Herculaneum tour, but we also did a tour of the Amalfi Coast with him. We will be back and will be booking with Mario and his team again!
