Mosquée Sainte-Sophie - L'empereur Justinien l'a construite au VIe siècle. Elle est très importante dans le monde chrétien et musulman. Les cloches, l'autel et les vases sacrificiels ont été retirés après la conquête ottomane et de nombreuses mosaïques ont été recouvertes pour transformer l'église en mosquée.
Hippodrome - Lieu où se déroulaient les courses de chars à l'époque de l'Empire romain, colonne égyptienne de l'Empire byzantin. Aujourd'hui, la fontaine allemande est la pierre angulaire de la place.
Mosquée bleue - Le sultan Ahmet Ier de l'Empire ottoman l'a fait construire au début des années 1600. La Mosquée bleue est un chef-d'œuvre architectural d'une beauté époustouflante, aux proportions remarquablement délicates pour une structure de sa taille.
La citerne de la basilique est un réservoir d'eau souterrain qui a été construit à l'époque byzantine. Les visiteurs peuvent flâner le long de ses allées peu éclairées et admirer les 336 colonnes qui soutiennent la structure.
Grand Bazar - Avec plus de 4 000 boutiques, c'est le plus grand et le plus ancien marché couvert du monde. On y trouve de la céramique, du cuir, des tapis, des moquettes, de l'artisanat, des vêtements, de l'argent et de l'or.
Le palais de Topkapi est bien plus que la résidence impériale des sultans ottomans. Pendant près de 400 ans, il a servi de siège au Conseil exécutif suprême. Le palais de Topkapi est un magnifique exemple d'architecture orientale qui capture la majesté de l'Empire ottoman.

So worth the money, we had Fatih who was incredibly knowledgeable about the history and specifics of the city. We're in the city for a ahort time so we needed a tour that basically covered all the bigger historical sites while getting the full fleshed out experience and this was exactly that. Super flexible to any accommodations to the plan we wanted to make, and made the whole day so easy by handling the tickets, guiding us through lines and even finding us a really good restaurant. We spent the whole day from 10am go 5pm ish going through all the historical sites where Fatih explained the history, politics and cultural context in great detail. He even told us where was the best place to tske pictures and seamlessly guided us through super packed crowds! Thank you so much Fatih! There was a little confusion from my end on whether It was our responsibility to buy the tickets for the sites that you needed go pay to get in, but that was quickly cleared up by the Olea who reached out after I asked to let us know not to buy the tickets ourselves, as official city guides have priority lines and they can coach us on where and when to buy the tickets. Super communicative and helpful.

the places visited were the main sites in old town. the private guide Coskun was fantastic. he walked with us for 6 hours. very knowledgeable of turkish culture and sites. he made us feel very relaxed and safe.

Our tour with Josh was the absolute highlight of our trip to Istanbul. He is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and so much fun to spend the day with.
