Notre égyptologue Gem Explore viendra vous chercher à l'endroit souhaité pour commencer votre voyage au Caire en direction du plus grand monument islamique de la citadelle du Caire, également appelée citadelle de Saladin, qui remonte au onzième siècle et a été construite par le grand guerrier Saladin et son ministre. La Citadelle contient 13 tours fortifiées, contient 7 mosquées, la Citadelle a été le siège du gouvernement et la résidence de ses dirigeants pendant plus de 700 ans, quelle chance de connaître l'histoire moderne de l'Égypte. Ensuite, il sera temps de visiter l'une des merveilles islamiques ici, la mosquée Mohammed Ali.
La mosquée de Mohammed Ali Basha ou la mosquée d'albâtre (mosquée ottomane, ses minarets sont très uniques et hauts (86m), les dômes à l'intérieur sont plaqués d'or, les murs à l'extérieur et à l'intérieur sont en albâtre !! La mosquée a été achevée et terminée en 1848 UN D.
Ensuite, la visite se poursuit en visitant le Caire islamique. C'est la région qui abrite les monuments islamiques les plus grands et les plus célèbres. L'endroit a été fondé par Amr Ibn Al-A'as en 640 après JC. La visite du Caire islamique commence par la visite de la mosquée-madrassa d'Al Sultan Hassan. La mosquée a été construite entre 1356 et 1363 après JC sur ordre d'Al Sultan Hassan-An-Nassir ; il est connu comme une merveille architecturale par sa taille fascinante et ses conceptions islamiques mamelouques. La visite se poursuit ensuite par la visite de la mosquée AL Rifa'ei, qui a été construite avec un design plus moderne au XIXe siècle pour compléter sa voisine du XIVe siècle.
La mosquée est située sur la place de la Citadelle, à côté de la Citadelle du Caire. Maintenant, c'est aussi le mausolée royal de la famille de Muhammad Ali. Le bâtiment est situé en face de la Mosquée-Madrassa du Sultan Hassan. La mosquée a été achevée et terminée en 1912. A côté de la famille royale, vous verrez également le tombeau du dernier Shah d'Iran Mohammed Reza pahlavi !!
Après la pause déjeuner, vous commencerez un autre voyage avec votre guide touristique à travers le Caire vers l'un des lieux les plus religieux appelé le Caire copte. Le Caire copte est séparé du vieux Caire et contient la forteresse de Pabylon, l'église suspendue, l'église grecque de Saint-Georges, les saints Serge et Bacchus et de nombreuses églises coptes. On croit dans la tradition chrétienne que la sainte famille est restée sur le site de l'église des saints Serge et Bacchus pour être à l'écart de l'armée romaine. Avec votre guide, vous en saurez beaucoup plus et en apprendrez davantage sur le christianisme en Égypte.
Autour de Fort Babylon, les plus anciennes églises des chrétiens égyptiens ont été construites. En plus d'être la destination de pèlerinage pour les personnes de différentes religions du monde entier, cette zone abrite des ruines des fortifications romaines et plusieurs églises, une visite à l'église suspendue.
La visite se poursuit en visitant l'église Saint-Serge et Bacchus, l'église Saints Serge et Bacchus aurait été traditionnellement construite à l'endroit où la Sainte Famille, Joseph, Marie et l'enfant Jésus-Christ se sont reposés à la fin de leur voyage en Égypte. . Ils ont peut-être vécu ici pendant que Joseph travaillait à la forteresse. L'église est d'une importance historique significative, et en fait, c'est là que de nombreux patriarches de l'église copte ont été élus.
La visite se poursuit en visitant la synagogue Ben Ezra, la synagogue Ben Ezra est située dans la partie Fustat du vieux Caire, en Égypte. Selon le folklore local, il est situé sur le site où le bébé Moïse a été trouvé. Il s'agissait de la synagogue dont la geniza ou salle de stockage a été trouvée au 19ème siècle pour contenir un trésor de manuscrits séculiers et sacrés oubliés et conservés en hébreu, en araméen et en judéo-arabe.
À proximité de Khan Elkhalili, se trouve l'un des sites islamiques les plus sacrés d'Égypte, cette mosquée est le lieu de sépulture réputé du chef de Hussein, le petit-fils du prophète Mahomet. la mosquée a été rénovée récemment. Possibilité de faire de belles photos.
Ensuite, la visite se poursuit en visitant le bazar de Khan El-Khalili. Le bazar est dans le centre historique du Caire ; Il a été établi comme un centre de commerce à l'époque mamelouke. Le Bazar propose divers produits de toutes sortes et de toutes formes ; non limité à l'argent, au cuivre, à la dinanderie, à l'or et à la maroquinerie.

Abeer was a superb guide who made the day interesting and full of new learning and insights not just about Cairo and the Muslim and Coptic experience, but about so many other things from a long, noble past that weave in and out of each other‘s place and position in history and the current day. It is always fascinating to have a guide who is so positive, knowledgeable, but above all loves her country and its diverse history and contribution to the world. Among many memorable moments., possibly one of the best for sitting in a café in a traditional market, drinking, drinking, mint tea, chatting, and watching the world go by. That is one of the memories that I end of the day with a whole new appreciation for a history and story that I now realize I knew very little about. I also have to say a word of things for the driver who was quiet, courteous, but incredibly brave in traffic at a time seemed out of control. Yet, he seemed to be in total control. This was one of my best tour experiences..

Our family group of 3 had the pleasure of being on this private tour today with our guide, Mohamed Elshemei. I checked the reviews carefully before deciding on GEM, and after going on it, am very pleased with my decision and how everything turned out. Before we started, Mohamed adjusted the itinerary to fit our needs (we had already visited one of the sites, so he took us to an another historic mosque as a substitution). We were picked up promptly at our hotel by the driver and Mohamed in a touring van. The vehicle was clean and spacious, and our driver safely and expertly navigated us. Throughout the tour, Mohamed provided a wealth of information on the religious history and practices of the local people. He also tied together many of the stories we had heard from our other tours in Egypt so that we had the context for what we were seeing. He also took us through the main market, warning us about the quality of items and need to negotiate strongly. He let us stop whenever we wanted. However, we viewed it mainly as an experience just to walk through the market, but we also stopped at a "no haggle" store (at Mohamed's guidance). There was zero pressure to buy, but it was a nice, low stress way to shop for some last-minute souvenirs with low prices marked on all items. Finally, we had a nice lunch at a cafe in the Coptic area--falafel, shwarma, etc. Based on menu prices, it should have been much less than the $15 per person we paid to add lunch, but not a huge deal in the big picture. Overall it was a great day.

Our guide Mira was well informed, very polite and spoke English fluently. However we do recommend fact checking some of the information, as with any guide there is inherent bias. We did enjoy the tour but towards the end it felt like she was fading and she did not take us inside the second mosque. Also we did not get to do the promised itinerary because the synagogue was closed. We had an unexpected visit to an essential oil place and after that we decided to skip the bazaar part of the itinerary. I think the tour was expensive for what it offered.

Our tour through Coptic and Islamic Cairo was honestly one of the highlights of our trip. Ahmed was an incredible guide — his knowledge of Egyptian history is genuinely impressive, and he brought everything to life in such an engaging way.
