Excellent informative tour. Small group allowed us to ask lots of questions which Rui was happy to answer.
Excellent tour, very active and interested guide, knowledgeable of the subject. I recommend.
The monastery does not have any informational placards or references for the historical significance of the artifacts and architecture inside, such as you would see in a traditional museum. This is intentional to preserve the interior. Thus, a tour like this is absolutely critical to understanding the significance and context of what you’re viewing. I would highly recommend it, and our guide Rui was an extremely well informed and articulate guide.
Spectacular building and lovely architecture whether you have any religious belief or not you must go
Rui was very informative, planned a great route for us, and answered all of our questions! None of the sites have any educational signs, so we would not have been able to really understand any of the sites/area without the tour and Rui's knowledge. I would highly recommend to get a full understanding of the sights! There was a little more walking than we originally expected, but is needed to cover all of the sites in the area (and was well worth it)
Although the line to enter Jeronimos was quite long, the visit was well worth it. Luis was a fantastic guide and gave us great background information and numerous insights. Highly recommended!
We could tell our guide, Rui, had deep knowledge of the subject matter. We learned a great deal about Portuguese history during the tour. It was a very small group and well worth the cost.
A worthwhile excursion to Belem with Rui as our guide. He was great with communication beforehand to insure the group found him and had the appropriate ticket for the Monastery. Even though we ended up in quite a long line despite our timed tickets, the cloisters was worth it. There are no informational signs inside so having a guide is essential and Rui was so knowledgeable and interesting. It's an extraordinary place. After the Monastery there is quite a bit of additional walking to get to Belem Tower and the Monument of the Discoveries. Again, Rui knew everything!!
Rui was an amazing guide very informative!!! Highly recommend, our guide was so knowledgeable and was able to answer any and all questions!
Rui was a fantastic guide! There wasn’t a question that he didn’t know the answer to! So much history was shared and so much of it involved or was represented at the Monastery - a great start to our visit to Lisbon and Portugal. And he was very attentive to potential missteps on the uneven pavement and street crossings. Extremely knowledgeable not only in the history of Portugal and Lisbon of the past, but also current events. Highly recommended.
