Description
Au cours de cette excursion, vous visiterez la petite chaîne de Drakensberg pour observer God's Window, Lisbon Falls, Bourke's Luck Potholes, ainsi que le Blyde River Canyon. Vous vous arrêterez à tous ces sites où vous aurez le temps d'admirer les beautés de la nature pendant environ 40 minutes à chaque arrêt. Au cours de cette longue journée, vous ferez un arrêt chez Harrie's Pancakes pour une visite délicieuse et bienvenue pour déjeuner avant de repartir vers le canyon. Vous poursuivrez la visite sur le trajet de retour et arriverez à Nelspruit en fin d'après-midi.

Visitez le début du troisième plus grand nid-de-poule de CanyonBourke Bourke's Luck Potholes, ont été nommés en l'honneur du prospecteur Tom Bourke, qui avait découvert de l'or alluvionnaire à la fin des années 1880. Leur formation est un phénomène naturel créé par les eaux tourbillonnantes de la rivière. Ils se trouvent à la source du troisième plus grand canyon du monde, le canyon Blyde River à Mpumalanga. Situé à environ 35 km au nord de la ville de Graskop, le site a acquis une popularité croissante en tant que l'une des meilleures destinations touristiques de la province. Les nids-de-poule qui se trouvent au confluent des rivières Treur et Blyde ont été formés il y a des millions d'années par le tourbillon de sable et de cailloux, ce qui a conduit à l'enfoncement des nids-de-poule dans le lit sous-jacent de la rivière.
Le point de vue des Trois Rondavels se trouve au début (ou à la fin) de la spectaculaire route du Blyde River Canyon sur la route panoramique de Mpumalanga. En forme de huttes traditionnelles de ruches africaines, les Trois Rondavels forment trois énormes pinacles de roche s'élevant au-dessus du canyon ci-dessous. Jadis connues sous le nom de Three Sisters, ces formations géologiques sont l’un des nombreux sites naturels le long de la route panoramique de Mpumalanga. trois sommets distinctifs qui culminent à 700m au-dessus de la campagne environnante. Soyez sur vos pieds au point de vue, d'autant plus qu'il n'y a pas de rail. Attendez-vous à des couchers de soleil africains spectaculaires si vous y êtes au coucher du soleil.
Les chutes de Lisbonne sont la cascade la plus haute et la plus spectaculaire, culminant à 90 mètres. Elles font partie du «circuit des cascades» au nord de Graskop, le long de la route panoramique de Mpumalanga. La cascade porte le nom de la capitale portugaise de Lisbonne, qui est également le nom d'une grande ferme de la région. Les autres cascades le long du parcours comprennent les chutes Horseshoe, les chutes Lone Creek, les chutes Bridal Veil, les chutes MacMac, les chutes Maria Shires et les chutes de Berlin. Les chutes de Lisbonne se trouvent sur la Route Panorama, où vous pourrez visiter d’autres attractions populaires telles que la fenêtre de Dieu, le canyon de la rivière Blyde, le Pinnacle et les nids de poule de Bourke.

My husband and I did two day tours with Kyro — the Panorama Route (Falls, God's Window) and Swaziland — and had an amazing time! Kyro is extremely knowledgeable about the region’s history, wildlife, plants, and social dynamics, which made the tours both fascinating and fun. He’s also a genuinely kind, polite, and professional guide who made us feel comfortable and well taken care of throughout the trips. On the third day, we took a day trip to Maputo, Mozambique with Dave, who arranged everything perfectly — from crossing the border to a delicious lunch, and guided us on foot through the Botanical Garden, the Cathedral, and the beautiful historic Train Station. He even took us on a fun tuk-tuk ride around the city! Dave is a super nice and caring person, and we felt we got truly personal attention the whole day. Both tours were highlights of our trip — we couldn’t have asked for better guides or experiences! Highly recommended.

Amazing day with Dave! He gave us a lot information about all sights we visited, he was full of energy and we loved this day. When we told him that on coming Monday my 6year old would celebrate her birthday he sang her a birthday song, bought her a gift from a local market, even had the ladies in the restaurant sing her the birthday song, in a special African way (!), and make a pancake for her, that was a great surprise for all of us! All the views were amazing and all information and jokes coming from Dave made this day unforgettable!

The whole experience was awesome and the most spectacular sight for me was the Three Rondavals. The other sites were beautiful as well. Dave our guide was friendly and never stopped sharing his knowledge throughout the tour. There is nothing I would change about the tour.

My partner and I went on this tour on Friday 1st April (2022) and it was the perfect day. I had been wanting to visit Mpumalanga and the surroundings of the Blyde River Canyon for over 20 years, and it surpassed all expectations. We were picked up from our hotel in the morning and dropped off in the afternoon. All communications and information were well considered and we knew we'd be in good hands before we even started. Dave was the perfect tour guide - engaging, informative, funny and friendly. As well as knowing the area like the back of his hand, he also seemed to know so many of the locals we met, and they all seemed to love him. We went to some breathtakingly beautiful spots, and Dave struck the ideal balance between giving us guidance, direction and good company, while also giving us our own time to explore and enjoy as a couple. The tour was very well planned and smoothly run - all entry fees were included and handled without us needing to carry any cash - and the tour also included a delicious lunch. One of the best things about this tour was that we had most of the beautiful spots either completely or almost to ourselves, and then each time we left a spot, many others would be just arriving - Dave clearly knew where to go and when to be there to maximise our time and experience. By the end of the day, Dave felt more like a friend than a tour guide, and we were almost sad to say goodbye. A perfect day from start to finish, and one we'll remember forever, as we got engaged at the Three Rondavels viewpoint! A huge thanks to Dave, and an unreserved recommendation to anyone reading this and considering the tour - definitely do it!
