Nelson was a great tour guide, he was funny, knowledgeable and kept the kids engaged. He explained everything very well and we even got to make our own chocolate to take home. Tour was def worth it.
Great tour with Nelson! I love chocolate and wanted to do a chocolate tour. I chose this tour as it was interactive and didn’t include coffee, and so I was hoping would be engaging enough for my teen son and husband. All of us enjoyed it! The tour started with about a 20 minute walk through the farm. Then, it was interactive with chocolate tasting and making. So some learning but not a long lecture.
My family did a tour of the farm and chocolate-making experience today and it was phenomenal! I cannot say enough good things about this place and the tour. Our guide Nelson was super friendly and very knowledgeable. He made the tour interesting and fun for all of us. The organic farm is family-owned and everyone was very friendly. We got to see and experience every part of the chocolate-making process from getting the cacao beans from the tree to roasting and crushing to tasting! We got to try a hot chocolate drink as well as make our own bonbons to take home. We learned about the history of chocolate and how different varieties are made. There is also a small cafe and gift shop. The views of the jungle, river, and farm are beautiful. They’re also starting a “bungalow” operation to allow people to stay, so if you’re interested, you might check that out as well! I definitely recommend this tour!!!
Amazing experience! I went solo but I had an amazing time. Porfi was my tour guide and he was very informative & funny, he made me feel comfortable and included me in the activities of the tour. Learned so much about chocolate & even got to taste a bunch/take a little treat home. Would definitely come back!
The tour was very informative and entertaining. Went over history to present aspects of cacao and we were shown how to make cocoa drinks from seeds to the end drink. Very friendly and informative guide. We think this was one of the highlights of our trip. We also talked about/ viewed coffee tree and beans. We were shown multiple sloths on the site.
We enjoyed the chocolate tour. Cesar was our guide, and he did an excellent job explaining the types of cacao trees and the process for producing chocolate. The tour is very interactive and includes opening a cacao pod, making homemade drinking chocolate, and making our own bon-bons. We highly recommend this tour!
Absolutely great tour!! Nelson was a fabulous guide and learned so much! Got to learn process of making chocolate and then make our own!! Recommend you definitely do this tour and Nelson was perfect guide!
This chocolate tour was wonderful! We went with our 4 and 7 year old and it was a highlight of the trip for them. The interactive components kept them interested the whole time and of course they loved sampling chocolate and making their own bon bons. Porfi was our guide and he was excellent. So patient and kind with the kids. Can’t recommend highly enough!
We had a wonderful and very informative visit and tour on June 12, 2026. Our guide, Nelson, was very knowledgeable and entertaining. He took us through the complete history of the origins of chocolate, which is amazing on its own, but also gave us a hands on chocolate making experience, which the kids especially enjoyed (hint: it involves, drums, dancing and singing). A visit is very much worth the minimal effort if you are nearby.
A wonderful tour! Our guide was excellent, very informative and enthusiastic. It was great to learn about the process of making chocolate and see the stages from the bean to the chocolate itself! It was also fun to be included in different processes such as the grinding of the beans. We loved the tasting and creating of our own chocolate’s and this really made the tour stand out! I would definitely recommend doing this tour!
