My group of 2 adults and 4 teenagers did the private guided tour of Wekiva River. Sue and Tia are both excellent guides. They are friendly, knowledgeable and easy going. All 6 of us enjoyed the time we spent exploring the Wekiva River. We are moderately experienced paddlers and found this to be a very easy and relaxing paddle. We really enjoyed the flexible nature of the trip and that our guides were not stuck to a rigid schedule. As a bonus, the weather was perfect and we basically had the river to ourselves. The scenery is incredible. We also saw (and heard) a variety of birds, several turtles and 1 small alligator. The company is under new ownership so the webpage description of the tour no longer matches the actual tour. For us, this was not a big deal and we loved the experience we had. However, I would recommend the owner rectifies this as soon as possible. In the meantime, if you are booking this tour, find out the details directly from the new owner to ensure it still matches what you are looking for. The private tour is a flat rate price that includes up to 5 guests. Given the kayaks are 2 person kayaks, the cost to add a 6th person seemed rather high to me. Whether there are 5 or 6 guests, the company is supplying 3 kayaks. Perhaps a review of this pricing structure is warranted? Having said that, I appreciated the ability to add the 6th person 2 days before the trip. Overall, the tour was worth the cost and gets full marks from our group.
We are so glad that you had a great experience. The trip you did was a modified version of the Wekiva River tour. We will have 2 different versions of this tour. One for beginners to intermediates, and the second for more experienced paddlers. This is based on feedback from people who have done this trip. As for the tour charges, we charge per person, not the boat. We have a minimum of 5 for a private tour, with additional charges per extra person (being the same amount as the first 5) In the end, you got two great guides! I am happy the trip was a success.
Dana was an incredible guide! We saw an alligator, many cool native birds and got to paddle with 3 manatees for about 30 minutes of the tour. The Wekiva River is such an amazing wildlife area. I would highly recommend this tour! Very peaceful and lots of interesting wildlife.
I am so happy that you had a great experience. Dana is the best!
Definitely an enjoyable tour, make sure to bring sunscreen! They do provide lunch and bottled water which is a nice touch.
Kayaking through the Wekiva River was an unforgettable adventure—wildlife sightings around every bend and stunning photo ops throughout. We spotted so many incredible animals in their natural habitat, making it feel like a real Florida safari. Our guide’s deep knowledge and passion brought the journey to life and made the experience truly memorable.
Best experience in Florida for nature lovers, highly recommend to anyone, guide was very friendly and knowledgeable and we had a great lunch with the best cheese I ever had 🙂 Thank you very much guys and happy retirement buddy!
Greg was an amazing tour guide - friendly, engaging and shared so much local knowledge. We had a great day on the river despite it being a cloudy day and the homemade cookies at lunch were delicious! Highly recommended tour.
it's beautiful we had a lot of fun. we're surely comeback and try some activities they offer. i really enjoyed the experience.
Meant to be a holiday highlight, the tour was cancelled late on the day before with email and phone calls going answered. Luckily I managed to find an alternative tour company.
We hate having to cancel any tour. Most times it is out of our control, be it hurricanes, flooding, or a boat ramp being closed down last minute. We contact our guests the moment we find out a tour must be canceled. A full refund is always issued and if we know when the tour can operate again we give everyone the chance to rebook.
Tour was cancelled on me by vendor. I must wait for 7 days for my $200.00 refund while on vacation. I could have used these funds to book another event!!! I'm not happy. No one reached out to me on your end to see if I needed support with anything. It was not until I called to ask questions a out my refund. Again, not happy with customer servic Thank you and be well.
We are sorry your vendor canceled the tour. Please note we are not paid by any vendors/ third parties until after your tour. When booking with us directly if a tour is canceled a refund is issued instantly. Your credit card company might have a policy to hold funds, usually a few days. Please consider writing a review of the vendor you used and not the tour company.
1. You can see several underwater wildlife/plants - Bull allegator, when a cockroach cries in the genitals, there are three cockroaches around. But the delayed Guide told me it was not dangerous at all, and I was actually able to safely see crabs in the street within 50 meters. And the Guide also explained how the shrimp grabs the female, and how it responds to other male crying. Very useful and fun. - An alien-like bird, a manatee, a palm-shaped frog, a frog and a manatee. - Explain a variety of foods; there was also a flower from Korea (?) - History and local sights related to Florida are very useful. 2. Snacks. - You made the cookies yourself. They're delicious. - There's a lot of delicious snacks, like candy, cheese, salami, cherries, and when I get tired, I get tired. - Give me water. 3. Competent Guide - Flora and Wekiva rivers, flora and fauna - Friendly and trustworthy. 4. Good to know. - Not slippers, Sandals. - Toilets have to be fixed in the river. Be careful. - It's sunny, so you'll have a good UV shutter. - The last part of the section can cause pain in the arm. It's not a very easy difficulty, it requires some strength. But shouldn't it be as fast as wet or exercise? - When you get cash, we can give you Guide tips
