Notre excursion en kayak à Lofton Creek est un canal d'eaux noires calme qui serpente à travers les zones humides boisées de Yulee, en Floride.
Voie navigable primordiale, Lofton Creek présente une eau de couleur sombre, créée par les tanins qui s'infiltrent dans l'eau lorsque la végétation se décompose. Rempli de cyprès chauve, de gomme sucrée et de fleurs rares comme la brochet et les azalées sauvages, cet écosystème unique rappelle un ancien bayou du sud - une eau saumâtre regorgeant de plantes, d'animaux et de reptiles uniques. Les Amérindiens ont très probablement pêché dans ces eaux et cultivé la terre pendant des milliers d'années avant l'arrivée des Espagnols, des Français et des Anglais au milieu du XVIe siècle.

This is a nice float just be aware coming back. You have to paddle upstream, but wasn't too bad. Had two tour guides that were wonderful very knowledgeable and very friendly.
Tour guide was great! Moderate level of exertion. Take plenty of water. Get there early for orientation

We took the 2.5 hour kayak tour snd it was nothing short of amazing! A wonderful family trip for all ages and experiences. Highly recommend a morning tour before the sun is too hot .
We had the BEST morning on the Loftis Creek with our tour guide, Madeline! Had great weather, saw a couple of alligators, and learned lots about the Creek. We would definitely do this tour again and recommend it to anyone who needs some time out on the water, breathing in the fresh air, and learning out this ecosystem. Definitely time well spent with our two young adult sons. (They loved it!)
Madeleine and Rob were knowledgeable and friendly guides. The morning tour was ideal, with a lot of shade. It was an easy, relaxing paddle great for beginners.
